Default From Integra to TSX?

I was wondering if there are any former integra owners in here that sold their tegs for a tsx? Basically i want to know from former owners how the trasition was. I currently own an integra with a jdm front and type r motor swap. I've had this car since 2003 when it was stock and of course like many people I have become attached to the car but lately i've really been considering selling it to get a tsx. It is very hard for me to do but I would really like to have a tsx and not worry about getting my integra stolen and stuff like that. Have any of you guys been through this? I would really want a 6spd and would like input on how much these two cars really differ or are the same in a way. i apologize for another one of those threads..thanks

I still keep the integra for a 2nd daily since i work kinda far and the ITR stays in the garage. As far as power it doesnt have it compaired to the ITR though

i made the transition from integra to tsx back in 04. had a sweet teggy (JDM Front end/ITR motor.....made 211hp to the wheels) i had just transferred from Virginia to San Diego and my motor blew after a week. i needed a car so i went out and bought an 04 TSX. at first i had both cars. i fixed my teg motor and started driving that around again. i loved it so much. then i realized i couldn't afford both cars. i basically had two car notes and needed to get rid of one. i tried for the longest to get rid of my TSX. but it was only 6mos old and was not got get anything near what i still owed on it so i decided to sell the teggy. when driving the TSX i felt more like an adult and almost business like. but when driving the teg i felt like a kid with a fast car. it all depends on what you want man. if i could do it again....i would've never bought the TSX and would of sucked it up and been without a car for about two months (very hard to do in SD). since then i traded the TSX in for an F-150 for my wife and for me....well i bought myself another teg.

I have had several integras. I love my TSX. I still miss the integras just because there are so many parts out there and it's alot more raw, it makes some really sweet sounds and super fun to drive. The TSX feels just as sweet as a integra. Its just bigger, quiter and way more comfortable. The Chasis is also stiffer and it shares the double wish bone suspension and a multilink rear, which is better than the trailing arm suspension on the integra. The motor has alot more torque and the close ratio 6spd is fun to go through. In the end it just more of a mature car, it's like the integras more refined younger brother.

I have both. I will keep both, but if I ever got rid of either of them I would get a 6spd TL

I used to have an Integra and sold it to buy a 2004 TSX 6sp. The transition was a little weird at first. The TSX has a smoother ride, was faster, and more refined than my Integra. At times I do miss the rougher, feel every bump in the road ride that the Integra had, but over time Ive come to appreciate the upgrade to the TSX. My biggest adjustment was getting used to a car that was bigger, and also to the Drive by Wire system of the TSX.

I love my integra as well thats why its hard for me to think about selling it but sometimes if feel too much like a "kid" if you know what i mean? I've gone through a lot with this car. it was originally an ls so i had an ls-vtec that blew so i got a gsr swap then i sold that to get the current itr motor. the motor is semi built. it has skunk2 stage 2 cams, skunk2 valves, valve springs, retainers, skunk2 cam gears etc. i've never really had anything else so one side of me is curious to explore new things. one of my friends has an 07 si and another an 06 tsx. i drove both and i love how smooth the engine feels.to make things worse my younger brother has a black hard top s2000 and my parents see him as being more "mature" cause he sold his prelude to get that.heres some pictures of my car to give you guys an idea.

damn that car is sweet. do you own the car? if so man don't sell it. that car is to sweet. how old are you? a car doesn't have to represent how mature you are man. you yourself do. don't worry about what everyone else thinks....YOU WILL REGRET SELLING....trust me man. if you can afford it, get yourself a used TSX or something like that. don't sell the teggy.

I guess i'll add onto this thread.
Far and most important factor is what do you look for in your next car & your budget?

For my situation (cut it short). I had a 98" DC2 just about all the wonderful and kind words you will say to her. Yes, i did convert to a 6-Speed TSX.

What i really came down to was really the following:
What's more practical? 2 or 4 door.
Which car has more attention to thief?
& The DC is just as expensive as a 04+ TSX.

To sum everything up for the most part of leaving the DC to a CL9. I personally think its the "sentimental value" of making you keep the car. Not saying i wouldn't buy a DC in the future, but just to really clear out your though the second you get rid of the DC you surely grow into the TSX.

Performance/Appearance stock to stock DC vs. CL9
I would say the TSX has a whole lot more HP & TQ for DD.
Much more a quieter car all around x2.
Just about 3x the added feature & equipment on the TSX.
Very Luxurious!
Selling point: OEM HID!

Make your own judgment & you soon will see the value of upgrading.

^^Yea i definitely feel what you are saying. I do feel that i am attached to my car because of that "sentimental value". Im 23 and im about to graduate from college this year.I currently have an internship with the Denver Nuggets so every time i cruise up to the employee parking lot i do feel a lil different cause everybody there has more of luxury cars. If i could i would also try and get a tsx and have my teg on the side but i dont have garage space for both cause i still live at home with my parents. I always told my self that if i sold my car i would get a real ITR later in life but i dont know what to do...

Had many integras, sold my last one for a tsx.

Initially it was nice to get into. Out of the ricer scene, bigger, more comfortable, and softer.

The drive by wire throttle kills this car!

I had to sell it, and bought my itr again. Won't ever look back.

I went from a dc4 with a jdm itr swap, to an 01 ITR, to my 04 tsx. I like it due to the lack of theft issue, you are still able to mod a tsx, it is still fun to drive, you get 2 extra doors, alot more trunk room, and more luxury amenities like navi, heated seats, etc etc. Every time I drive my R i remember the more "raw" power/vtec that I will definitely miss... but I won't miss it enough to regret my choice in buying the tsx and putting the R up for sale.

I am the same age as you and I feel what you are going through, its normal lol. Like I posted above, I have had 5 integras in the last 3years, an s2000 and a **** load of other cars including an M3. I felt the same way when I pulled up to important places or took a girl out on a date. You sorta feel like a kid. If you want to keep the integra the best thing you could do to make your self feel more mature is repaint it. Paint it a less flashy color like black, silver white, change the rims to stock or something that blends in better. That will make the car more feel and look more elegant like the TSX.

The TSX takes away those feelings. I have never been so content with a car ever. I miss my inegras and my s2k, and recently wanted to trade back, mainly for an s2k. But every time I drive my TSX I fall in love again.

i don't have a tsx but recently bought an audi a4. i was planning to sell my 99 4-door GSR, it's turbocharged and makes 285whp...but i just couldn't part with it. even though the a4 is 4wd and chipped (stgII) and a much more refined car overall, i still really enjoy driving the teg.

I've kept the integra on the classy side as far as mods...it's white, with gunmetal alloy wheels. no tint, no carbon fiber or crazy red recaro seats...the interior is a clean, stock, grey leather. And I still get compliments on it all the time...and i'm 32, by the way.

i say keep the teg as a DD if you can (I DD mine still), especially if it's paid off. it's going to be easier/cheaper to maintain the teg too, especially if you've learned how to work on it yourself over the years of owning it. good luck either way!

I'm hopefully going to be doing this switch sometime in the near future, it's really coming down to dependability issues and looking professional. I also won't have to worry about it getting stolen; I'm not looking forward to the insurance and car payments though =/

I am in the market to get a TSX soon and stumpled upon this thread. I'm keeping my DC2R though. I was looking at the TL Type-$ but saw that they held there value and had to do a reality check and settle for a TSX. I want to have money left over for some Volks. In the mean time I'll have to do a lot of searching and homework. I will post pix nexted to my R when I get it.

i know what you mean. you integra is at the point where it's more of a hobby car instead of practical, reliable, inexpensive transportation. you need a REAL car. i've had my integra since 1999. it's been sitting since 2005 except for 2 months i drove it fall before last. i needed a new car i could drive, not worry about fixing or getting stolen 24-7, getting pulled over because it's a modified honda or getting hit, etc....

i wanted something to daily with 4 doors that felt a bit more grown up and mature and practical and keep it pretty much stock.

last year it after thinking about a fit sport, 04-05 tsx, i ended up with an si sedan. yeah, it doesn't have all the luxury of the tsx, it's still a civic, but it's feels like a newer, more comfortable updated version of the integra but without all the negatives.

regardless of what you get keep your integra and park the new car outside.

I agree. These cars came out in our lifetime and we like to mod them. All these classic car old guys still drive cars they have always driven. If you like building or having a certain car then you do it because it's a hobby, not because of your age. They're cars, not pokemon cards which are for kids.

I'm still 18, but would much rather have a sports car feel and power. I don't mind having a daily driver that has a stiff ride or either accelerates slowly or too quick. I have a car that's more ideal for daily driving, but I'd rather drive a car I like more all of the time. People have the wrong viewpoint if they think cars determine how mature you are.

Most people have an integra AND a TSX.. Unless absolutely necessary, we would rather have both for different purposes than sell one to get the other.
