vsa light with /!\ illuminated. Code 83-1 ecm related
Hey everyone.
I'm hoping some people can shed light on my issue. I have an 2002 acura TLS with the vsa and /!\ lights illuminated. The car was towed to a shop after sitting 9 months. It got an oil change, tires inflated, new battery, inspection, rear brakes and rotors. After that I took it to the Acura dealer to take care of the airbag recall. After a day or so the lightsiI mentioned above lit up. Here is what the car does during this time. The lights illuminate and the vsa button is not able to be used. It doesnt respond at all. Also, when I let my foot off of the accelerator it seems like the brakes are pushed ever so slightly. Enough to rock the car back and forth about 5 times. Then its fine until i let my foot off if the accelerator again.
After the car sits overnight(may be less time but seems to happen when it cools down), the light s go out but after sometime (maybe 20-30 min of driving the lights come back on. I took it to a shop to have the codes read and to have everything else they looked at they may have damaged due to working on it. They said they have to do a full check after they looked at things they may have touched. so, the codes that were read was 83-1 ecm related failure. Ecm code P1519 iacv circuit failure. He tested iacv circuits. . They tested ok. He recommended That we change out the IAC motor. Cost 243.70.
Does anyone think this code could cause the issue? Does anyone have experience dealing with this issue? Thank you in advance.

Have they checked for any transmission codes? Those lights are ones that scare most of us to death! P0740 is no bueno! If I can find my service manual, I can look up other possible causes....

I've torn my house apart looking for that CD, and I can't friggin' find it!
May I suggest AcuraZine as the 2nd generation CL Type S is highly similar, plus there are a lot of helpful people on there...
