I'd also like to say that the 2009 TL looks a hell of a lot better in person than it looks online.
I don't mean to argue with you, and it really is just a matter of taste, but I think they are going to do better with this car than you think they're going to do.

BTW, the parts dept sets parts prices, not service. We charge 2/10ths to install a battery.
I doubt you've lost any sleep after spending the day "helping"/raping your customers.

On another note, it seems that Acuras are rapidly becoming more "global" in parts content. IIRC the new TL is something like 65% US/Canada, 15% Japan, and the other 20% unspecified. A good bit of that 20% is China (spare tire, numerous wiring harnesses, etc). I wonder how that stacks up against Lexus, does the extra $$ give you a higher Japanese part content, and less/none from China? I haven't scoped out any Lexus window stickers lately, but I can't help but wonder.

Re: (Kenso)
The '09 TL is really growing on me. When it first made it's debut, I was very hesistant to like it but I'm really digging it now.
Especially after all the Acura TL commercials I watched over the weekend during all the NFL games. LoL

That rear fender section looks too heavy for the wheel underneath it. The front grill is starting to grow on me, but those fog/driving lights are still hideous. And having the mirror mounted turn signal UNDER the mirror makes it more susceptible to rocks and damage, no?

I've tried so hard to get used to their "power-plenum" grille....but it just doesn't work for me. If I were you I'd get one in black and do a grille conversion of some-sort. But, to each his own

Painted grille! Dealers have taken it upon themselves to paint the grilles to match the rest of the car. The black TL looks a lot better now I must admit.
I wonder if Acura will redesign the grille for 2010? I suppose that's unlikely, I would imagine they would give it a couple years at least. I gotta say, this took me by surprise, dealers taking brand new cars not even sold yet, and a brand new model at that, and just going to town with a repaint on the front end. Honestly with a different grille, the front of the car would look pretty mean though, I'd probably be much more of a fan.

our dealership just color matched a black one also, but they also painted the brushed aluminum piece above the trunk, looks pretty good but i like it both ways(the grill color that is). i like the the red one with just the center color matched the best. i think it would be really cool to see a whole dealer blackout package that blacked out everything.
oh and to the douche nozzle sales ***** that was talkin all the trash about techs. how can you say we're hardly mechanics anymore? with all the technology on these new cars most of the dumb asses that sell them cant even tell the customer about them untill we explain it to them in laymans terms ten times. i gaurentee that if you gave this car to what you consider a "mechanic" they couldnt even start it, let alone diagnose a brake, cel, or even a tire light.

Are we looking at an A-Spec car? If it is, are there pictures from other angles?

So many variations are popping up that I'm no longer sure what's OEM, OEM A-Spec, aftermarket, and OEM + dealer enhanced.

Saw the new fascia on the '09 RL in person when I picked up my TL. It's less offensive in person.
I'd like the type-S in RWD, not AWD. AWD is too much of a performance/MPG hit. I don't care much about the price of gas, but I put 350 miles on my car every week and I prefer not to have to stop any more often for gas than I have to. Plus I live in SoCal. No one in SoCal needs AWD.
Also would like to see that dual-clutch manumatic technology in a Honda transmission. All the performance of a 6-speed, but you can put it in auto for heavy traffic, and you have no torque converter wasting energy.

There's a reason that Ichishima's personal car is a car with SH-AWD.
The hype about sending power to the loaded rear wheel? It's not just hype.
It pushes you through the corners faster.
The car's good at deciding if you need to be pulling your way through with the front wheels or pushing your way through with the rear wheels, and in either case the majority of power is going to the two wheels on the outside, the wheels with enough of a load to do some good.
It works great.
You're right, you don't need SH-AWD in So Cal, if you've already determined that you're just going to be slow.
