1997 Acura CL auto tranny problem,
ok my bros acura cl 2.2vtec is having tranny problem, when i first started it up this morning "cold" it goes into the R(reverse gear) and car moves, all the other gears D,D4,D3,2,1 will not move the car, it's like all the D gears are Nuetral, u step on the gas and the engine revs up the rpm but car goes nowhere. I left the engine on to warm up so i can check tranny fluid, I go back out in 15 minutes and check fluid it's above the HOT line and then i try putting it into reverse gear the car wont move anymore, I try all the other gears and car still wont move. what are the stuff i can look for? there is CEL light and i think oil light is also on too. any help is appreciated thanks.

Re: 1997 Acura CL auto tranny problem,
You might want to see why the CEL is on. If the oil light is on you should definately find out why thats on. Sounds like you need a transmission though.

Re: 1997 Acura CL auto tranny problem,
i work for b&m transmissions and its pretty common. its either the pump or the converter. either way you still gonna need a rebuild and new converter.
