2005 Acura TL E-Brake not working
Hi guys, and ladies, So i just bought a 05 Acura Tl 6 speed a week ago. I was parked outside my garaged because i was going to be leaving soon and the security called the tow truck on me. So i came out in time before he took it. He had the car hooked so i had to give him $90 to bring it down and then he took off. I drove the car to my parents in law after words and they have a incline driveway. When i pulled my ebrake and the car was in nuetral it rolled back easily, their was only a slight drag when it was pulled all the way up. I just got the car a week ago so i'm not sure if the ebrake was a already not working or if the tow truck man moved something. If he did moved something, what would it be??? I dont know what too look for?? Can you guys please help me out. Thanks.

hey did you have to take the whole center console out to get to the adjuster? i always pull my ebrake all the way up but when i park in an incline i feel like its not grabbing all the way and once or twice it rolled a little bit when i was getting out of the car.

its been a while since i have done a e brake adjustment on a TL but honda is very good about having access panels to get to them or having the center piece come out easy like the accord similar center console design very easy to just pop off can't remeber for the life of me how to take a tl center console apart though.

Re: 2005 Acura TL E-Brake not working
ok, so i lifted the rear of the car. Went inside the car, open the arm rest, removed the rubber mat at the bottom of the arm rest. Removed the square plastic cover under the mat, then i just got 12mm dice and ratchet and gave the nut a couple of turns clockwise, did a couple of clicks, then spined the wheels while lever was up about 3 clicks until i felt some friction when spiining the wheels. The e-brake works great now.

Dang, you beat me to it. I had a similar incident in my driveway...had the ebrake pulled and leaned on the car and IT MOVED!
Opened up to install the isimple anyway and tightend up the bolts. Now, maybe 10 clicks is as far it'll go!
Good job.
