Re: Whats the average age of a 06 SI owner? Previous cars? (skoo74)
I'm happy that most of you guys are over 20, I think a certain amount of respect comes with tuning such a car. Too many kids at my highschool have cars like WRX's, G35's, and A4 turbo's and just add big wheels and subs then want to street race. I'm afraid how it might turn out with a younger crowd that can afford to get their hands on it. Sorry, uhh, I own an EP so I kinda dont fit in here, oops

This has been a popular question.... The RSX is a sexy looking car, no doubt, but the SI is sexy as well....just in a new way.... people have been around the RSX for 4 years now and have adapted to it, but when it first came out, there was a bit of question on the looks as well. Many hate the new SI look at first, then come around... And to be honest if people judge from mag articles (like I first did) they will be very surprised when they actually see it. I thought the SI was ugly as hell from the articles and sneak peaks. Then I went to SEMA and my feelings did a complete 180. I knew within the first 10 minutes of seeing an SI that I would be trading in my rsx-s (which at the time of SEMA I had only owned the rsx for 2 months, and was OBSESSED with it). I got back home from SEMA and truthfully the next day (mid Nov.) I went to Cartiva Honda of Grand Forks, ND, and told them their first SI was mine. Fast forward to Dec 20th, and there I was....losing my butt on my RSX and sitting in the new SI. After owning it now for over a month, I can tell you that there is only a few things I like on the RSX over the SI and most are to deal with modifications.
Seats in SI are 10x's more comfortable...(RSX seats were TERRIBLE for long trips)
Dash looks modern, if not futuristic vs rsx's plain jane boring dash
SI has a new exterior look vs rsx's awesome look, but old design
SI handles WAY better than the rsx...no question at all
SI pulls stronger...once again no question at all
RSX is much easier to work on under the hood... The k20 in the SI is very compacted into the engine bay!
RSX has a nicer stereo, SI has optional 8 disc/rsx has standard 6 disc, and SI's stock stereo is a joke at high volume, whereas the rsx's bose system was alright.
LSD....need I say more?
Vtec is WAYYYY louder in the SI.... This sounds like a 'ricer' statement, but everyone knows that they enjoy hearing and feeling vtec engage... Just like Sti owners enjoy hearing the BOV or turbo spool....
The red stitched seats/center console/etc makes the interior feel more 'exotic' and unique. The leather seats in the RSX just looked like a leather rip off of a sparco.
I can go on forever.... but the fact remains the only things I like on the RSX over the SI have nothing to do with the performance or styling of the car (stereo, and engine bay)...
That good enough for ya
