Default What tranny fluid you run in your EP3?

I know it calls for the "Honda Manual Transmission Fluid" but I was thinking of running something a little higher performance? The REDLINE MTL says it is approved for "most" honda and acura applications so I am thinking that would qualify as Honda approved? Just curious what you guys are running and how it is working out for you...

03 EP3, 40K miles, Royal Purple Synthetic, etc...

The new Honda MTF is one of the best, if not the best, transmission fluid on the market for open-diff Hondas.

Different isn't always better.

is there a part number for the new honda MTF? how do you reckon its the best?

i've always used GM synchro mesh friction modified in all my hondas 00EK and 97EK and have had amazing results.

GM is good if ur tranny has alot of grinds and its old with a lot of miles but on a new tranny ull expletive it up....after awhile ull start to mess up all the gears or thats what i herd from a lot of ppl......so far i have 30XXX miles on my type-s and a change my tranny oil every 10XXXmiles and its works just fine....and for those of u who know me they know i beatn my tranny all the time.....trust, theres times where OEM is the best and if not the best its up there with the rest....lol

I got 3 quarts for 15 bucks at the dealer and changed it out with the Honda stuff. THey tell me all their oil is made by Mobil which is good stuff. I trust Honda and imagine they will have fluid that is as good as any other. I still run Royal Purple oil for the motor though but I am thinking about switching over to Mobil One just because I think Royal Purple might be too "RACEY"? I dunno.

I use Amsoil on my EP and the shifts are alot better...shifts like a hot knife thru butter
