Re: trannnyyy (DC5StylZ)
if your in 5th or 6th gear and you're at about 4k, you're not going to get an automatic jump up in power. If you had loss of power it would more likely be your clutch but from what you are describing just sounds like you're out of power band.

does it go up to the 4k and then sit there like you are in Neutral and then picks it's *** up eventually? If you answer yes to this.. Sounds like your clutch is going.

tranny doesn't slip.. your clutch does and that's inside your tranny and putting a new clutch in is a BIOTCH! if you've never done it.. have fun.

From that comment.. i take it, it's still a virgin. Subframe has to come out, IM has to come out (because there is a bolt one damn bolt hiding behind the IM bracket) OH boy you're in for a joy.
*edit* it would be best if you had someone there to help you and remember it's 20 lbs of torque when you are bolting the pressure plate back up.

Re: (touge_dc5)
well you gotta support the engine, and remove tranny mounts and stuff. and you gotta drop the bell housing (clutch housing) and remove the clutch assembly, and install the new clutch in with pressure plate, and line it up with a alignment tool, then you gotta bolt the pressure plate down, then you gotta put the tranny in, and it gotta go in smoothly. if not and its like stuck, and you shove it in it, you will damage the splines on the input shaft.

LOL! Come on now ... It's your clutch for god sakes. My car would rev up 6th when I put a load on it. Just the clutch going out that's all. My car still had a pedal feel too.

Are you saying you have to remove the INTAKE MANIFOLD ? If so then you are wrong you don't have to do that. You do have to remove one of the brackets attached to it to get to one of the starter bolts. Only one starter bolts has to come out. The biggest pita were the axels honestly. I could only get those out with a snap on air hammer. You try using a pickle fork and it will destroy your boots and get no where.

Re: (ReallySlowEg)
and the only way i found to get that bracket off was take the intake manifold off. I've tried everything i could think of. I even looked it up online from everyones experiences to make sure it wasn't just me and they had the same issue. They had to take the intake manifold off to get to that one bolt. I ended up taking the bracket off since it was useless just extra crap since i already took the IM off. How did you take the bracket off?

Please explain.
If you blew your tranny you'd get grinds, binds and wont go into gear basicly your tranny would not work period.
