It's extremely sad to know that some douche bag is actually going to buy that car either at that price or somewhere around that. wow.
Whats the biggest mark up you guys have ever seen on a car before?
At my local chevy dealer they had one of those SSR's with a 19,999$ mark up. It's unbelievable.

Excuse me, who is the man who runs that dealer? I have some gonads to fry. Thats not even funny, that robbery.

I saw a 26k civic last year. It was a EX with every possible dealer option, from the stupid *** window flare things to sport wheels and sport tires and every upgradable bit and piece. But you couldnt spend 12k on accessories for the RIDGELINE, let alone a Civic. Thats a funny pic, goin on my website. Keep it up for a while whilst I show my friends.

I think that when a dealer marks a civic up $13,000 over MSRP they are saying they are keeping the car in the showroom for a month.

They clearly cannot sell the car for that price. The FG2 is a nice car, but you'd really have to be a complete blithering idiot to pay $34,000 for an FG2 Civic.

I think they just want to keep the car as a showroom attraction until they have to start paying the interest on it, at which point they'll lower the price dramatically.

Even at the sticker price of $23,000 there are other Hondas to think about. Just adding tax, processing and title to that would bring it to $24,500 or so.

When you get up around that price, there really are more Hondas you should look at.

I bought a 2006 Accord Coupe V6-6 for $26,000 out the door (including tax, title, tax, destination, processing, everything). That price even included a number of small accessory items like splash guards, the hard trunk liner, cargo net.

I hate to say it but the Accord is such a superior car to the Civic that when prices get up that high you probably really should have a look at a six speed, six cylinder Accord.

The insurance is cheap, and the last tank of gas came in at 29 miles per gallon.

At the $20,000 price tag that we were talking about when the car was hitting the shows, the FG2 is an awesome car. When you start adding $5,000 in extra fees (or more) to it, then the CM8 and other Hondas look like more attractive buys.

In ohio they are for sale at MSRP I would drive to the east coast to buy one and avoid the mark up

And considering the amount of money you'd be saving, you could even fly first class.

Here's the car you can buy and save $8 grand over the price of that Civic:

The Coupe's 0-60 is 5.6, the Sedan is 5.9. EPA City 21/Hwy 30.

Hey George, are those the standard wheels on the big daddy coupe Accord? Do they have a HFP option suspension?

Thanks

Oh and that mark up is crazy!!! Here in Kentucky they are going for MSRP.

Those wheels are standard on any V6-6, coupe or sedan, beginning this 2006 model year.

It's not listed, but the 2005 $400 HFP suspension from handa-accessories.com should work. The 2006 V6-6 had some suspension beefing up done as a part of the facelift, so you won't see as much of a change as you'd have seen in previous years, but it's only $400.

The TL A-Spec suspension should also work, cost only a little more, and we know it's designed for the six cylinder.

No...they probably sell them for close to $50k....
Price doesnt mean anything, though, unless someone is willing to pay that. I'll agree with George. Someone comes in, sees that price, it would be a lot easier to get them to pay a few grand over sticker - and what a great deal it would be, getting them to reduce the markdown to ONLY a few Gs over MSRP...LOL. Even if I have to wait 6 months, I will NOT pay over MSRP for mine and I dont even want to pay that...!!!
