so my oil drain plug falls out thanks to leath acura
so thats what happend about 15 miles after i got my oil changed. i turned the car off before it locked up on me (so i guess thats a good thing) but im trying to get another engine. leath acura doesnt want to they say that it didnt cause no damage, but all they did was fill it up with oil and give me my key back. the only differance i feel is viberations on the clutch and gas pedals over 4k rpm and the engine sounds rough my car has 23000 miles on it and all you rsx owners know how quiet and smooth it feels. ive been real cool with the dealer and im trying to work with them they are just not giving in

This has happened to me...thankfully i shut the engine off immediatly...had about 4 quarts oil still in it.
The towed it in free of charge and changed the oil and filtered it all to make sure there was no metal in it....

you should have drove it till the motor ran out of oil and locked up the motor if you wanted a new one.
Honda's not gonna make the dealers replace the engine if it wasnt damage.

Re: (Type X)
dont play the "nice guy" with them otherwise they will just keep running you in circles. file a report with headquarters, threaten them, tell them you are gonna get a lawyer; basically light a fire under their asses. make sure that they understad you are serious. they fucked up plain and simple and now they are trying to weasel out of giving you the new engine that you deserve.

Basically the stuff everyone else said, just make sure you make it clear that it was in excellent working condition when you dropped it off and since you got the keys back, it aint been the same, so it's something they did while ****** around under that hood.
Good luck man, and keep us updated.

Re: so my oil drain plug falls out thanks to leath acura (lif3tak3n)
FYI...I've been talking with Thomas about his ordeal. Seems they love to do half assed work on his car. While having some recall tranny work done, they didnt tighten front arm and it came loose while he was driving. Nice, huh? I talked with him today, charged him up and hopefully he was going up there to be firm with them. I told him LEAST they could do is get a leak down test done. And, if a bearing is going due to starvation, they ought to be able to tell by dropping the pan. He's a young kid and they are just trying to brush him off.

Piston rings aren't really affected by oil starvation because they don't rely on oil pressure directly.
Oil starvation will kill all the bearings very fast and it's possible this ordeal put alot of wear on the bearings. The Good thing is there is an easy way to tell. Tell them to check the oil pressure and compare them to the specs. For example, cold idle = xxpsi warm idle = xx psi, 4k rpm = xx psi. These are the specs you typically see in the manual. If you motor has less pressure than the specs, your engine is worn.
Excessive wear on the bearing will increase vibration.
It would help if you gave us a more detail description of what exactly happen. This way we can tell about how long your engine was without oil.
