Re: Simple hp gains?
At the moment all we want is a consistent 15.0 car.
The muffler already rattles so an exhaust is on a drawing table though the head not to sure about as FI is in the plans down the road.
Same goes for k-pro, it's in the works but funding won't cover it at the moment.
We're just looking for the best mods for the cheapest money at the moment. I ran the car last weds completely stock with A consistent time of 15.9/16.0 with 2.5 60fts. It cant be that hard to drop a .5 with these cars can it??

Learn how to launch properly before you do anything. I can hit 2.1 60fts w/ street tires lowered to 20psi.
You won't be able to make power if the ECU is still trying to override/correct everything. So until you get Kpro I wouldn't even mess w/the engine.
Try to strip unnecessary weight first (interior panels/seats, spare tire, GF, etc.). For cheap mods, you could fill the motor mounts with poly window filler stuff, that might help with your ridiculous 60ft times.

Re: Simple hp gains?
The easiest and CHEAPEST thing you can do to drop time is get rid of some weight. Every pound you can get rid of helps in track time. You may not be adding HP, but you'll be using the HP you have will carry you faster with a lighter car. I havn't done this with my RSX, but did this with my supra back in the day and it helped in my track times.
-If you have the spare tire in your car, take it out on race day. That's 20 pounds gone by itself.
-Take out the back seat, including setbelts.
-Take out the carpet in the back and the hatch area + any molding.
Those are just some of the easiest ways to get rid of 20-40 pounds of excess wieght. All of these can be easily replaced as well, if you took them out correctly. A friend of mine auto crosses and goes as far as drilling holes in his bumpers to reduce wieght. lol

Re: Simple hp gains?
drilling holes in your bumper isn't for loosing weight but to have less drag in the rear...
Honestly just remember one thing its all about power to weight ratio... it's the only thing that matters when it comes to racing! Loose some weight, upgrade clutch and flywheel, get better tires will all help you get better times going down the strip!

Anyway, you want to pick up some simple power... Race header + exhaust.
What'd I'd highly recommend is the following.
RBC + Karcepts adapter
KiddRacing Race Header
3" cat-back
Cold Air intake
Kpro + dyno tune
She will have a blast like that. But if she wants to actually go fast and be consistent, get some BFG drag radials on the stockies or on a set of 15" with proper backspacing/offsets to clear the brakes.

It's bracket racing. Could be a 15 second car or a 20 second car... Doesn't matter.

Re: Simple hp gains?
Wheel/tire overall size due to the 0-mph/kph - danger requires more to turn the larger radius. Coilovers/Camber should ensure you are in contact once you are rpm'ing.

Re: Simple hp gains?
not to be a dick but i think you will find what i say goes.. i rarely have to link something to prove it because ide just be linking you to something i said earlier.. like one of the 900 times Ive said reflash is a waste of money. kpro is always better.. ALWAYS and in this case they can use to kpro to set the rpms for the car and everything she would need so she can run a more consistent time. welcome to the forum btw!

In simple form:
NO TWO CARS RUN THE EXACT SAME... even though we have the same motor, my dyno graph will be different than yours. So if you want the most power, the best safety for your engine, and the best tune, you need to get Hondata K-pro and have your engine tuned to YOUR ENGINES SPECS!
Installing a reflash is a waste of time and a joke to me. I see it as being like buying a power chip back in the day add. You are putting someone elses tune in your car. How do you know it's not hurting more than helping? People talk about reflash leaning out your setup.
K-pro to me is one of THE best mods if not THE best.

Re: Simple hp gains?
on race day just take off the rear seats, the spare tire along with the tie down bose speaker and the passenger side seat. this wont cost u anything, throw in an intake and have her practice launching and shes set, intakes run u bout $100 in the streets and or on ebay, if u still have some more $$ then invest on some race headers and exhaust and u should break hi 14's. I have an 06 RSX type S with an AEM V2 intake and i took out the interior above an i ran 15.1 and im a heavy set guy so she should be fine.
