If you want to spend less money on a faster less reliable car go for it, but the bottom line is if you spend the extra money on an rsx-s and put a few thousand in it to make it fast its going to last you a hell of a lot longer then the Srt-4 hands down, like dc5tegk20 said we drive type s's bc we can afford it and can afford to put money into it, not everyone can and thats ok, so don't bust on us for liking and wanting to put money into it to make it faster. I don't care if you can make an srt-4 faster with the same amount of money and what not, I don't give a expletive... people have different likes and preferences, thats why there's a wide variety in the market, people have different ideas as to what they want to do with the car and different wants. It's like buying a lotus elise vs. a porsche both pretty much the same car (performance wise), but the porsche is a better quality car. same thing bud. people buy the higher more expensive car because they have the money and choose to buy the better quality product....

Did you know if you crashed a an 06 civic Si you can get all the replacement parts of of the base model well thats crazy isnt it maybe its because they are both the same cars as their predecessors Oh and for 01-05 Kevin did you know that the Si was only a hatch and none of the others from that year were makes you think maybe they did make it different. stop acting like dodge is all high and mighty they make good family cars thats about it end of story.

Also wrong again. I believe there is a guy on ephatch that has 150k on his with only doing normally maintenance. People that label car manufactures are just stuck in the past. The problems arise when people strap boost controllers on and run 20+ psi without any added fuel, then sure they are going to break down. Strap on some no2 and you will also have problems if you are to cheap to upgrade to the wet kit and upgrade your fuel. Just like if you put a turbo on a Honda. Sure I can run 10psi without any added fuel but will it last long? No it will not. Same concept, you should read up on it.

First the srt-4 comes with a different rear and front bumpers, hood, wing, and 17" wheels. Basically that leaves you with the fenders, quarter panels and doors for being the same. On the civics they are exactly the same unless you purchase the hfp kit. I'm sure you can interchange the srt4 parts but that's not the point at discussion you brought up. Actually they did not make a civic hatch in 01, but thanks for spreading false information once again. They started in 02 and ended in 05. It makes me think that Honda tried something different, failed terribly and scared themselves ****-less to make another hatch for the U.S.

I really like your enthusiasm to attempt to make me look horrible, but before you attempt to I would make sure your arguments are actually true and not some rambling you heard from your ricer crowd that got passed by the srt4. well there is this guy who had an rsx, went to EVO 9 SE. and turns out insurance is much cheaper on the evo then on his rsx. way! cheaper!. i believe he said on the rsx, insurnace was about $700 every 6 months and with his new evo its about $400 every 6 months... and prices for insurance depend on where you live.

If you want the fastest car between those, take the SRT-4. Yes it's a Neon, I think everyone here has "lol"-ed that point enough. It was originally a $20K car that could beat $35K+ cars. Stock for stock it will beat an S2K with no problems for a fraction of the price. They respond well to modifications, and if you spend what the Type-S owners spend on a few bolt-ons, K-Pro, wheels, and maybe coil overs; you will have a car that will be easily contending with STIs, GTOs, and Cobras. If you find an SRT-4 with the actual SRT-4 seats (not the R/T seats found in some), they hug you better than some racing seats and better than any OEM Honda seat (except maybe for the Recaros, but we didn't get those here.)

If you are about performance in a small package, the Neon is the way to go. You will be flamed by Honda owners out there, but when you leave the good majority of them behind in a race, you will be the one laughing.

Don't get me wrong, I think the RSX is an overall better vehicle. There are very few cars made as well as a Honda and the RSX is no exception. It just depends on what you are looking for in your choice. Good luck.
