yea its a hard choice to make..i have the money to buy a rsx but then it might take me a couple months to get the money to do anything to it..its a hard choice because i like integras but i like k20 motors too..it seems alittle expensive to do a k series swap..i heard something like 10k for a swap..

i personally think a integra is a better platform to start off with.

The integra is lighter and you can swap in several different motors while rsx you only can upgrade to a tsx, accord, element 2.4 motor.

with the integra, you can go b20vtec, h2b, any k series, b series type r such and such, and plus i think integras look better

you posted this in a rsx fourm, of course you are going to get biased people lol.

good luck on your oppinion.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Type-R's are not faster than a stock type-s. Maybe from a stop yes because of LSD but my personal experience I passed my buddies 01' R at 100 and at 110 when I let off his front was at my rear quarter. In the twisties...Yes! R FTMW. But in a straight, pretty even cars.

To the OP, I have owned both a 97 GSR and I currently have an 06 type-s. If you are going to get an rsx, i recomend the 05+. Better tranny, better looks, R cams. Seriously great car. But on the other end of the spectrum the DC2 is such a great, nice comfertable car. There are times when I wish I wouldn't of traded mine in. In all aspects of both cars you need to look at what you want to do with the car. A K series engine is such an amazing engine they just keep making power, boost or N/A. I have about three mods ( CAI/RH/ k-pro) and I make 199Whp on a hot humid day. The B series such as the C1 Gsr motor or C5 R motor it takes a little bit more. You can easily throw mods at a K and make power like nothing. The good thing I see about the RSX is, it's not seen as much as Integras. Look in magizines or even around shows you don't see as many as integras. Eigther choice you get a great car. If you want a roadrace car tho seriously type-R is the way to go. Ive been to the type-R expo and just seen how these cars perform...and damn out of the box its a race car. Good luck.

I own both. A 2000 Integra Type R and a 2006 RSX-S, which is pretty much the upper ends (stateside) of the DC2 and DC5..

I've put many hours on both of them, I can tell you straight up that the DC2, especially the ITR is a car for the enthusiast in you (only purchase one if you have a garage though.

But as comparing the two...

ITR Pros:
- Best damn handling car I've ever had
- Great driving experience
- A more active participating feel, driving day to day
- Never lose value

ITR Cons:
- Fan boys
- People Trying to steal your ****
- forget highway driving, revving at 5k all day

RSX-S Pros:
- Very luxurious
- 6 gear kills for roadtrips
- Bose system
- Pretty much just a bunch of amenities

RSX-S Cons:
- this 3rd gear business, it's pathetic
- no center console
- handles like a complete turd, it's hard to believe they are brothers (DC2/DC5)

In a nutshell, the RSX is great for luxurious purposes but you'll have a very disconnected feeling from the road.... The ITR makes your damn blood pumping with some spirited driving.

Either way don't buy an R if you don't have a garage.

wouldn't say it handles like a turd, maybe in comparison to an R. With a good 2k invested in the Rsx's suspension, it can shine.

Riding in an R on tien flex's and sticky tires was AMAZING. I just got Buddy Club Racing Specs, and azenis tires for the RSX-S. This setup should drastically change handling performance.

stock for stock comparison the RSX-S handles like a turd...... I base this opinion off the fact that I own both and actively drive them all the time. The thread was a dc2 vs dc5 sort of thing...... I figured since I have the top of the line of both i'd have an opinion worth listening to.

rsx is smooth though, real comfortable ride, but yeah it's a turd. Of course you can modify the suspension, but you can do that on any car... I'm sure it probably handles great, but I guess I've been spoiled with the handling of the R.... but I like a smooth drive to work, thats where the RSX comes in.

I've had a girlfriend...... she's hot though, she's trying to get her own R actually.... To be honest If I wasn't so in love with my ITR I would have just bought a M3 and had luxury and performance, but I couldn't part with it....

there's no doubt I would take a type-r over an RSX-S. I was so close to getting a CW 98 spec before I got the rsx, but with college it became sadly noticeable, that it would never work...

I still don't know what honda engineers were thinking when they used macpearson struts up front... seriously after producing one of the best handling FF cars, why the hell would you screw it up. All DC5 race teams complain continuously about it.

Very well put, and probably the best answer the OP is going to get. R's are amazing cars and I'm jelous of you BTW. Lol. I agree tho unless you have a garage you better stick with a GSR.

Thanks, I saw the topic and i was like OOH OHHH MEE MEE.... But I do love the RSX I don't mean to bash it but it's not really a "drivers" car to me, too much fluff. But that fluff is luxury...

I did forget to mention when you get a ITR you join the community of elistist ******** that think their honda is a ferrari... but it tends to be a more grown up/road course driven community, not many drag racing idiots.

here's a few pictures from the myspace.

I know what you mean about people owning R's thinking that, not to disagree, all the people ive met were pretty cool. Like i've hung out with Jon D a couple times around my PA area and I went to expo 7 and everyone seemed pretty cool.

The RSX is too refined and your right, it is luxury. The R is just a raw machine that you feel like it takes over your body and is in control when you drive it. My friend eric ( ITR0065) used to own one and let me drive it all the time, but he sold his for an s2K.

Hands down if I had a garage I'd prolly own an R. To the OP you get a great car eighther way, just depends on your liking and what you want out of the car.

i have a da n a dc5 so i must be ballin lol

i was gonna buy an R when i was looking for a car but since car theft is very common here in la i decided to go with the dc5. either car does attract theives but for some reason the dc seems to get stolen alot more here even though i have heard of dc5's being stolen.

as for suspension the dc5 does suck but with some money invested it could be upgraded.

Can I suggest a GSR? I mean yeah they still get stolen, but they aren't as rare so you get a better price.... many luxury amenities (moonroof, cruise control, optional leather) plus it's still a car very oriented for a driver.

The beauty of a GSR is that you can still buy it for book value, and if it gets wrecked you get book value on it.... Normally a ITR you pay 40-60% over, so what happens to a lot of these guys when it gets wrecked or stolen they have to fight to get a decent insurance settlement.

When it comes to the DC2 and DC5 they are both good looking cars, especially now since there are nice bodykits out for the DC5. I test drove the DC5 the first day it came to my area. And i said then that the DC2 handled better than the DC5, and even now it still does. I have owned a 98 GSR and i traded that in for the DC5 once i saw how easy it was to make N/A power over the DC2. This was 5 years ago.

If i were you i would take the DC2 just because of the fact that is cheaper to go faster with that platform now than it was 5-7 years ago. Now you can take a GSR build a custom turbo kit for 1500 dollars and make over 500whp. To make that kind of power on a DC5 it will cost you between 7-10 grand.

After owning 4 integras the only other honda I can see myself buying would have to be the RSX-S. The Type-R replicas look so clean. I put it off though because dirtbike racing is much more fun/inexspensive than auto modding/racing. btw, I'm selling this, PM me for info:
