Default RSX Type S transmission question

I was thinking of getting a RSX Type S and wanted to know if it comes with a LSD Tranny? If not, does it make a big diffrence without it launching wise?

no lsd on the type-s. launching wise, it depends on if ur used to having an lsd tranny. in any case u will adapt to the type-s, its quick off the line if u learn how to launch it.

So the RSX Type R is the only tranny with an LSD right? They dont sell RSX Type Rs in the US do they? I havent seen them yet.

No LSD in any RSX from the factory and no type R here in the US. The LSD makes a
HUGE difference. Highly recommended.

Would i be better off buying a JDM Type R engine (210 hp and 134 Tq) and put it in my 96 LS (2643 lbs.) or trading it in stock and getting a 02 Type S (200Hp and 142 Tq - 2778 lbs.)? also is the 10 more HP and 1 more Tq is the '05 Type S worth the big price diffrence?

PS the JDM Type R come with an LSD

K series swap into a DC2 is a LOT of work. Probably better off with the Type S in my opinion. Not sure of performance advantage of the 05s - a bit more power but it's toting around an extra 80 or so pounds. It's biggest advantage over the 02-04s is probably the shorter final drive ratio (4.7? vs. 4.3? I believe).

Sry i was refering to the JDM Integra Type R (1.8) It has 210 hp but less Tq. than a type S. But are the RSX Type R going to the US Market at all?

Oh, it helps when I actually read the post . A DC2 ITR swap is a different situation entirely.

The general consensus (with which I agree) is that the DC5 Type R will never come to the states. It just dosen't make sense, as by nearly all accounts '06 will be the last year for the RSX. Frankly, if Acura were planning to do something like this, the media blitz would have already started by now....'06s will be in dealers in less than 2 months. No news means no R.

I wonder why they are giving the RSX such a short lifespan? It was the replacment for the integra and now its gone too. Shitty, might keep my 96 LS just in case it becomes a classic later on

I think the RSX is bowing out because: a ) the new civic si will be a direct competitor, offering all the performance (if not more) for less money b) Acura is attempting to move upmarket, and the RSX dosent fit with this plan.

Thats what i was scared of. I was hoping the Integra (RSX) would always be a step up from the Civic Si, but in this cause they are combinding them together in the 'new Si'. I dont think that is the smartest choice for Honda to do. I was never a fan of the civic but maybe it will grow on me (since there will not be much else to choose from)
