RSX-S won't start or starts and dies! Help!
Ok....so here is what is going on. One day the car just didn't want to start any more. Because there was previous noise coming from the head I figure it could be a bent valve. So took the head off and sent it to the machine shop to get repaired. They sent it back and told me there is nothing wrong with it. Valves are fine. So I put it back. Aligned the cams using the alignment tool from honda (pins in the back of the camshaft) and TDC at the crank. Matched up all timing chain marks. By the way, I have done it 3 times with same result. and put everything back on now. Again 3 times. The car will start, accelerate by itself, and then the revolutions will sink real low. If I try to press on the gas, it dies right away. There are no check engine lights and I have already tried a new pump thinking that was the problem. For the life of me, I cant figure out what else could be wrong. I have tested compression and all accross im around 150 or so. There is spark. And now the oil light stays on. What is going on with this thing. Any help would be appreciated.

silly question... but did you put the map sensor and the TPS sensor plugs backwards? They are the same style plugins and are easily swappable and I myself have done it and had the same sounding issue

They are correct. Plus, the original engine harness will not allow you to switch them since the map is up top and the TPS is on the side and the harness comes from the bottom.

Re: RSX-S won't start or starts and dies! Help!
Figured it out. And for the life of me, I dont know how all of this happened. Turns out the final problem was the fuel pump. Tested it again and it was at 10 PSI. I dont know why it chose to die now. Originally, when I first had this problem, my first thought was the fuel pump. In fact, I went ahead and put on a new one before I took the head off. Still didnt start. So my best guess is that the timing chain skipped and thats why it would start from the get go. The timing chain tensioners are know to be extremely weak of the K20 motors, so if you get a chance, change it out for either a skunk2 or better yet a hybrid racing. And finally the fuel pump gave out. People, remember that these motors operate their tensioners with oil pressure. Make sure to keep a good eye on the oil levels at all times. Otherwise, it can also skip a tooth on the timing chain. Thank you all for your help. Till the next problem.
