A really, really random question for all of you EP3/DC5 drivers.
I bought my EP3 about a month ago and I've been noticing that my right foot hurts after driving a good while. After about 40 miles and my foot gets sore where is connects to my leg. Maybe I'm used to driving my Accord and I'm positioning myself differently. I always have the seat fairly upright. Sometimes it gets to the point I use cruise going 30mph. Anyone ever experience this? I never have in any other car, even after driving 600 miles one day.

Hmm, I find the ride in my EP fairly comfortable. Drove it 5 straight hours to Kentucky and no discomfort at all. Are you driving in stop and go traffic? If so then that may be why your right foot hurts.

You probably just need to adjust from your other car. I don't get that problem besides contemplating suicide in traffic.

No, it's actually the dorsal side of my foot, the most proximal part. I think it's the extensor digitorum longus that is getting sore from constant dorsiflexion (letting off the gas in city driving).

Doesn't happen in my DC5. My wife sometimes complained about it when her commute was really long, but it depended on what shoes she wore.
She started wearing jogging shoes to drive, and replacing them with her dress shoes when she gets to work, and never complained about it again.

I actually felt a little uncomfortable after long stretches when I had the seat slid all the way back and the seatback pretty close to upright. I slid the bottom forward a couple clicks, tilted back a couple, and it's been a lot better.

I drove a hundred miles to and from school everyday for 18 months and never had a problem with my leg. You should see a doctor or maybe do some calve exercises!

No it's the top of my foot where it articulates with my leg. I think it's because I sit so close that when I let off the gas, I have to hold my foot back pretty far.

Hmm.
I don't know how your foot is touching the pedal, but here's a guess. Try putting your foot so that the heel is resting farther away from the pedal. That way, when you lift off, you won't have to crank your toes back as far. Then, as you press on the gas, your toes would slide down towards the bottom of the pedal.
Basically, only your toes would be touching the gas pedal. Not sure if that's what you're doing already, but if not, it's worth a try.

^^^ that worked for me. You'll get used to it eventually now I can drive for hours with no problem.

That was actually a tip given to me waaaayyy back in driver's ed. The idea was to keep me from inadvertently shoving the gas pedal and making the whole car lurch, getting a little more sensitivity in the foot at the same time.

I never had the problem in my volvo. When it bothered me in my ep i just looked for ways to drive and not make it hurt. I think my laziness found the toe driving
