Re: The Offical K24a2 swapped ep3 thread...
has there been anyone that has used the PLM exhaust manifold before you? i am just wondering if it will create any boost creep...the sidewinders are very particular with flow, i remember awhile back although a good product, the peak boost sidewinders would create large amount of boost creep...i am just wondering how this compares since really all you ever here about people using for sidewinders is AFI or Full race...and i happen to be doing the same thing you are, as in swapping my ep to k24 and boosting

Not sure on the boost creep. I have read a thread though how the sidewinder manifolds have the wastegate flange positioned is what causes it. Well see when I get it tuned.

Finally got the car tuned again...
Not to bad for a stock motor. My next plans are to get pistons and rods. Maybe some valvetrain springs and retainers. I need a new tps sensor, new battery, some fuel lines for inside the tank, front motor mount. The car was tuned at Mase Engineering. He did a get job. I had a couple of bugs with the tps and the fuel pump feed line but other then that things went pretty smooth.

Garrett gt3582r with the .82 exhuast housing. 10.8 psi revving to only 7600revving rpms. It still makes power past that, I just wanted to keep it safe.

??? Super???3000??? Sorry im not following what you are asking. If you are wondering if im keeping it safe now? The answer is yes thats why i only rev it to 7600. Its a stock 2006 spec tsx engine with rsx oil pump and cam actuator. Its only driven a few days out of the week. The tune is pretty much like a factory tune but with turbo. The best tuner in florida tuned it. My future plans are listed above.

a 35R on the most potent k24 out there and it doesn't break 400whp with a sidewinder... i wouldn't give my tuner that much of a confidence vote if being safe was 330whp, i was making close to that on my hurt A3 with an EBAY turbo setup!
however, if you are truly happy and satisfied with those numbers, then good, job well done, but personally i'm not swapping and boosting to make less than 400wheel.. esp with no expensive turbo setup

Re: The Offical K24a2 swapped ep3 thread...
Your Thread has been very informative, my build will be similar yet it will be for a circuit car. I totally feel you on the being conservative safe part. Im going to be using the same exact turbo as you but with springs and retainers, maybe bp or eagle rods and wiseco pistons. but back to the point at hand. im only going to make 400, i like 500 but reliability is where its at! kseries aint cheap and k24a2 are even worse, hence why i only will be rockin the k24a2 head and a k24a4 block with a type-s pump.I will have a spare k42a4 block on hand cause this will be my lil race program but do you man and long live your k24!!!

Bored at work, so I just reread the thread. Great build.
I want to swap my a3 as well in my dd, and you've made a strong case for the k24a2. But why did you choose the k24 over the k20a2 or k20z3? Just curious.

Mainly because more cylinder volume. Ep3's weigh alot compared to a older model civic. I wanted more torque. Turbo just makes it 10x better. Now I need to figure out how to stop my wheels from spinning so much. I need a Lsd asap.

I been having tps problems. When I would accelerate my car felt like it would hit some kind of fuel cut. It sucked, so just got my K Tuned Tps sensor , car drives alot better now.

I actually think its to low. They are megan racing springs, which lower it between 1.5-2.0 inches. One inch is more what I want. I had a megan racing header on it before I took it off and sold it. When I purchased the car in 2010 it came with all the megan racing stuff. I plan on doing the Acura Rsx A-spec shocks and springs eventually.
