Hyundai?!?!?!?
Article
"Hyundai’s Genesis Coupe will have a starting price of just $22,000, the Korean automaker announced today at the Chicago Auto Show. That will buy you the base model, equipped with a 210-horsepower, 2.0-liter, turbocharged, four-cylinder engine. If you’re looking for some more power, you’ll have to pony up $25,000 for the the 306-horsepower, 3.8-liter, V6 engine model."
Never thought Hyundai could pull something like this.

Re: Hyundai?!?!?!?
But they're SOOO Much fun to Drive!!! I work at a Chevy/Cadillac/Hyundai dealership. OMG SOO much fun to drive. I probably wouldn't own it (kinda ugly in person), but definitely worth a free reign test drive.

Re: Hyundai?!?!?!?
and just for Grins, here's the New Hyundai Elantra Touring... take a good look. I saw one in person on the Hyundai lot and had to stare at it to tell the difference between it and the Fit.

Re: Hyundai?!?!?!?
Hyundai really is coming up in the world. They're one of the top three highest in customer satisfaction. They must rank pretty high on reliability too. I think more than anything, it's the clientele that they draw that holds them back. All the hicks trying to come up in the world own them in our area, and they expect to go the life of the vehicle on the same fluids. That of course wreaks havoc on the internals.
They need to raise their prices a little to edge out the undiscerning multitude, and they would look a lot better.
Sorry if that sounds harsh. I work with a Hyundai Dealership here in WA. There is a marked difference between the way that low end Hyundai customers treat their vehicles and the way that the higher end clientele (that buy them for cheap commuter/town runabout).

Re: Hyundai?!?!?!?
Wow... with that kit, it looks a LOT like an Infiniti G35.
We have a joke with the 4 door genesis that Mercedes built the nose, Lexus built the side, BMW built the tail, and Hyundai badged it... (I may have mixed up the details, but you get the gist of it)

Re: Hyundai?!?!?!?
Nice it has VVT. Only $22,000 for an inline-4 turbo. That's sweet. It's everything I ever wanted in a Honda.
I'd just be embarassed because of Hyundai haters from the import crowd.

Re: Hyundai?!?!?!?
it really isnt all that bad. it has the same 4B11 as the Evo X. not exactly the same but pretty much. the one that HKS did was really nice actually.

Just a side note, Hyundai's first independently developed car was the Pony, a RWD 4 seater sedan/hatchback.

Honda is going to have answer back on the next S2000 and NSX! I have a feeling that something fast is going to come out of that Honda garage in Japan when this recession stops... I can garantee it!

Re: Hyundai?!?!?!?
why would they need to answer back? economy cars sell much better and in much higher quantities than sports cars. they've built a name for themselves to vastly increase their sales. they make reliable cars that get great gas mileage.
