First, my compliments on your very clear walk-through on removing the "bleeping beeper". It is really well done.
BUT ....I am probably a one-off, but I want to make the alert louder (!) ... since it also sounds as a proximity alert when backing up, and it would be great to hear that over the radio. Well, OK, especially for my wife.
I have some experience in the simple sort of digital electronics that is presented on the circuit board you removed the peizo-electric sounder (I'll call it a "chime") from, but wondered if you might be able to give me some technical details about it: whether it runs on 12 volts or 5, and how many milliamps of current I could safely draw from that circuit.
I could always replace the chime with an iso-coupler and take a separate circuit from there, but it would be simpler to just replace it with a larger/louder unit, even if I had to put it outside of its current box and run a wire to it.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
And again, great job!
