Custom prototype 3" straight-thru race exhaust. LOUUUUUD (vids and pics)
Well, after enjoying my J's Racing titanium 60RS for a long time, I decided my primarily track-dedicated DC5 needed a track-dedicated exhaust.
Citing the results from many other k-powered vehicles, I opted into having a straight-thru 3" pipe in order to maximize my power.
Only problem is that the prototype exhaust wasn't designed with the option of fitting a silencer with it...and I'm still driving my car to most events.
When I arrived to test the car out, the exhaust was already installed and the car was sitting outside the front of the shop. All I had to do was fire it up and go for a spin.
We wanted to do some datalogging, however the car was just too darn loud for us to consciously do any testing and NOT **** off everyone within a 2-mile radius.
The design itself is fantastic...great welds, excellent sway bar clearance, not heavy by any means. Only problems were the angle of the exhaust tip and the fact that we couldn't install a silencer. That, at the fact that we were barely able to test it.
It sounds unreal...it's as agressive as anything I've ever heard...not sure if that's a good thing or not, but in terms of sheer performance, I'd imagine it'd help. Without being able to dyno and datalog though, who knows?
Videos:
BTW...in video 3 you'll see my passenger side headlight burn out. It's a SILVERSTAR...(only H1 bulb I could find at the time). BOTH BULBS HAVE BURNT OUT WITH UNDER 8 HOURS OF TOTAL USE. I WOULD NOT SUGGEST USING THESE TO ANYONE.
Pics:
Sorry there aren't any tangible results or numbers to really show. We'll try to figure out more when we take the car to the circuit next...hopefully I'll find a way to get the car out there without making everyone's eardrums bleed!
Here are a few vids of the much more civilian J's Racing 60RS
Just thought I'd share :D

Re: ... LOUUUUUD (Tyte-S) TYTE-S? lol- is that your own special model?
The best part of the first test one was...
"Damn... He's gonna get pulled over!"
Wifeypoo heard this Video from the livingroom and came running...
Nothing has sounded louder coming out of this computer!
when she saw you pull away, she said the same thing!
"Damn... He's gonna get pulled over!"
....after my noise pollution run-in with the law, i went the other way...
from 2+1/2" ...back down to stock! ...i envy you!
GREAT VIDEOS! Great Sound!

Thanks guys!
We're working on putting together some type of silencer to restrict the sound levels when the car isn't running on the road courses.
We may still send it back for further development...while it might restrict a little bit of power, a resonator would surely help out my eardrums.
