Hey there, was hoping for some help diagnosing this issue. This car has had the CEL on for P0172 for about the last 3 years. It never bothered me all that bad since it is kind of a beater, and I only drive it when I need a car to leave at the airport or boat harbor. Now I need a car in Washington, and am contemplating driving this thing down (from AK). An owner previous to me put a long tube K&N style air cleaner on it. besides this, I think it is a bone stocker.

It idles a little unevenly, occasionally stalls (before it warms up it seems like) when you decal to a stoplight, and it gets pretty bad fuel economy.

Are there any really common no brainer type of causes for this condition? I am aware that things like oxygen sensors, map sensor, fouled injectors, etc. can cause this. Just want to see if there is a high probability that the issue is some obvious thing before I go throwing dough at randomly replacing parts.

Doesn't seem to be one culprit from my search on Club EP3. But the O2 sensors seem to be the most likely. Start with cleaning things - fuel injector cleaner, throttle body, then go to more serious, cheaper things like the O2 sensors before thinking about the cat and such. Or take it to someone and pay to have them properly diagnose the problem. I guess pick your poison here, but no, no easy determination here.
