You are all forgetting that, its still a $23000 Honda Civic. Its no fun owning an upside down car Remember you can spend 8000 or less on an EG EK etc that would light that SI up. Even my '01 GTP would **** on the new SI (197 hp is crap, Honda needs to grow some sac). Also, think about the other rides you can get for 20 or more. SRT4, WRX, Cobalt SS (weak), Some wicked EG's, EK's, Integs, Ludes, Accords. TT Supra (you better shop like a bitch), RX7, GTI, a sick *** SR20 240 etc etc.....When you compare that car vs. the other cars you could pick up its a no brainer for me. But some folks just NEED that Brand New Model. But in 4 years when I can buy one for 15K dont hate.

i really dont know why people are putting down the Si left and right. who cares if you have a car thats faster than the 06 Si. he asking opinions if the Si was a good price for 23,590 not if he should get an eg or ek etc. you got to remember that some people arnt all about speed. sure you could build up a civic that will own an 06 Si for 8 grand, but its not an 06 civic si. some people want the 06 civic for other reasons than the horsepower, besides the power from them arnt horribly bad. if he has the money let him buy it, but dont hate cuz you will be driving something else besides the Si.

Than why did I just sell my EG6 for 7500?? I'm not hating he asked if it was a good value dipshit. I don't think it is even compared to the new cars our there. I.E. SRT-4, WRX, are way nicer than any civic even the all mighty Si.

The invoice on the car is $18,270 so it's the demand that is driving the price up. I would pay $19k-20K before ttl and that is about it. If you shop around you can probably get it for less than 21k. A dealer asked me if he sold it to me for 21k, if I would buy it. I declined because I didn't want to wait a month for it to arrive. I will wait for a little bit longer and then buy one.

There are better cars that cost more, but I don't think the SRt-4 or the wrx is better. The interior of the wrx isn't as nice as the SI and you get around 230 hp for a car that is slightly under $25k. It's a nice awd car but I don't think the extra cost makes it a better car. The horsepower is better but it ultimately depends on the driver's preferences. Horsepower and cost aren't everything.

I'm not trying to start a flame war, I am just saying, to each his own.

I would say just pay MSRP for this new car.

Someone said WRX and SRT-4 are nicer than the new Civic Si? Have you at least glance the interior once in one of those new Civics? I am not saying Si, just any new Civic. The interior is very nice, and for this price, nothing can't beat it.

As for performance, you can't really compare the Si with WRX/SRT-4, they are in different class.

So back to the topic, anything above MSRP is not a good price. If you can get them at or even below MSRP, go for it, but if you can wait a bit and not in a hurry of a new car, wait until everyone finishes their shopping for the Si, then you will save a few grands for other things.

Good luck.

So because I can buy a $500 CRX shell and dump $100,000 into it to make it faster in the 1/4 than a Enzo does that make it a better car than the much more expensive Enzo? Your argument sucks. A car is a whole package. If you are looking for straight line speed for cheep(er) go buy a domestic V8 and it will be faster than your EG/EK swapped hatch for even LESS money.

There is more to a car than 1/4 mi times and price. It is a package as a whole and it is up to the OP to pick the car he/she wants.

You could always spend 20k on a ITR. Just a thought. And yes there are some "mint" conditions ITR's out there for 20k cause i've found them already.

I think that if you can find an Si with a reasonable markup or for MSRP then its a pretty good deal.

The ITR would also be pretty sweet except for the fact that those things are getting jacked left and right.

The SRT-4 and the WRX will have problems past 100k miles, an SI will both hold it's value and outlast any other "sport coupe" that other manufacturers are producing. An SRT-4 is still a Neon and it's probably the worst production car other than the Cavailer, the SS Cobalt is just a replacement for the worst car on earth, and the WRX is a dime a dozen and the the bottom ends on the European models have been going out. There aren't any cars on the market other than the RSX Type-S that beat it for the buck.

you guys cant come out here and tell someone to buy a ITR for the same price cuz if u are financing the vehicle,....IF you get them to finance 20k for an ITR you are going to have to have it paid off in 3 yrs which will make your payments higher than financing the same amount on a brand new car cuz u can go for 5 or even 6 yrs which makes your payment a ton lower! same goes for the folks saying "buy an ek and put the other 15k into it and u will have a better car," like i said b4, if you are financing (and in most cases, people are) there is no way in hell a bank will give u 20k for an ek, eg, blah blah blah. so u can buy it and fix it up. I know this doesnt apply completly to this thread, i just hope some of the people posting comments like this will read this and double think what they type b4 i read "buy an ek and put the extra money into fixing it up"
As for the original question,.....that price might be all you can get them down too. although if u look around, sometimes a state away, they will sell at or slightly above invoice price,.....not msrp. invoice for a base SI being 18k and some change.

the dealers get it for what they call a back hand price. They get it for a couple grand less then the msrp. the msrp for everything fully loaded is 23,360... you can get it for 21000 flat and they still make money, just not as much. botton line is dont pay msrp, walk away a couple times and youll get it for 21000

In a normal case yes you can walk away a couple of times and they will budge, but theres enough people out there that will gladly jump in when you walk away and scoop that car up for msrp, and they know this so why would they want to sell it for less when they know there is Joe Schmoe waiting for the chance to buy this car...... just my 2

The people who "jump" in and pay more are retards. with 23 grand you can bulid a car that would spank an 06 si all day. so why pay 23 when you can pay less? theres always going to be another si... the hype of the 06 si is bullshit.

O MY GOD!!! did u not read what i wrote above!!!!!!?!???? why the hell build a 6 yr old car that has the horsepower to beat a new SI??? some people like new cars, with warranty and good gas mileage. sorry to threadjack(in a way) but this is why i stay off honda-tech for the most part. Head on over to Fgcoupe.com and see what the members over there are paying and plus u only have to deal with FG members not all these biased people telling u to buy an integra or 92-95 hatch and "build it"
