The rear 3/4 view of the grey example is gorgeous...however, the grill is totally uninspired. Since the front of any car sets the tone, this one states that the whole car may be prosiac and mundane.
Which is not something your halo car should be. Should it?
Just nail the grill, Honda. Should be that difficult.

and meh on the new NSX.... I mean look, Honda's got its very own NA. GTR now! I'm sure it's going to be an amazing car - it's just a shame that they killed the MR platform.... or could it be they're saving the best for last??

First of all, people need to understand, this isn't an "NSX". This is Honda's next offering of an exotic sports car. It's not intended to be an NSX, it's intended to be Honda's next flagship sports car.
The NSX made it's mark in its own way....superior handling, all aluminum construction, timeless design, Honda reliability, etc. It had the recipe to compete in the market of that era.
This design will function upon the same concept. They'll take a platform, that for whatever reason they wanted to develop upon (market analysis, buyer potential, or development for a future platform or racing venture), and take it to a level no other company has. Looking at that car is hardly 350z...young import kids will see 350z because that's all they know. The world will see similarity to multiple Ferrari and Aston Martin chassis (American Le Mans maybe...ahh yeah!). F1 roots, with a refined high dollar interior. The mark will be made by the V10 and SH-AWD system, which will make it capable at stock chassis based racing, along with other design aspects that surely are closely guarded.
Expect to see these cars raced for sure. Look what the American Le Mans series did for GM and the Corvette since 1997. It's turned the Z06 into a ferocious beast with a warranty. Honda LOVES pumping racing technology into their cars for reasons of efficiency, and power...that's why we're all here. Let them develop, use, and learn with this, and technology will trickle down and make the future Honda offering that much better.
We don't want the 88-00 generation of Honda's to be the 64-71'ish era of muscle cars that freeze in time, and lock a mountain of enthusiasts that in 2035 say "I don't like working on the new stuff...gimme an old EK and I'll blow your mind, but these new electronics are for the young guys". Let's not be those guys.
Keep an open mind people...and welcome the future, and be willing to learn.

If that is ANYTHING like the new NSX, I'm sooo glad I bought mine when I did - sadly I think those pics look ugly and makes the new GTR look even better!
Sorry but not feeling those NSX renderings, and at the much higher price point no thanks.

It does look too much like a 350Z.
Disappointed that it is not MR.
The NSX was original and unique. THAT is why the NSX was successful.
This is, well... not original, not unique.

looks like the new supra. all new concepts look alike. kinda gay. too futuristic to me. they should just keep the same body style of the NSX and just make it faster.

yeah, maybe ya'll are right. Maybe Honda should take pointers from Ford and Dodge and make it look like an old throwback. Why move forward when you can just keep things the same right?
Why does a chassis need to be MR if Honda's SH-AWD system allows better performance in a factory based platform?
Ya'll can cry about it, and I'll sit and watch Honda make their mark in the resurgence of Japanese supercars.
Dont' get me wrong, the NSX will ALWAYS have a place with me. It's a great car...a GREAT car, but I'm open to whatever Honda has new to offer. When Honda decideds to step into a market, they don't do it half ***, they change the market.
Look at the Honda business jet. In aerospace, when new jets are designed, an increase in efficiency of 3 or 4% is cause for blowout parties among exec's. Honda's conservative numbers suggest the Honda business jet will be 25%+ more efficient than the current market offering. Lawnmowers, cars, planes, even cleaning beaches...when Honda does it, they do it right.
