Supposed to read "Yonaka catback".. iPhone "corrected" it for me.

Anyone used one of these systems? I want something quiet. Don't really care for noisy crap anymore. Currently car has a greddy muffler welded to stock piping and it's pretty loud on the highway. Was checking out stock muffler, can get that for 200 from Acura brand new. The Yonaka system is 250 shipped new, full cat back. Figured I would see if there were any opinions on it.

Check you tube for clips, it is a knock off of the WS2. If your stock mid pipe is still in good shape I would go with stock, it has a nice tip and quiet.

I have heard clips of the Yonaka, seems to get raspy at higher rpms, you get what you pay for.

They are decent! I had one on my hatch when I had it. It honestly sound good for the price. None of that ricer rattle can ****. Quality and fitment is really good too! For the price I think there better then Megan or obx!!

I'm assuming you're referring to the hatch in your sig? If so i was curious if the C/B was very restrictive on a built motor.

I remember seeing Yonaka at sema when they first came out. Quality SEEMED good but I never have owned anything from them. The video makes them seem like good quality in terms of sound, but I wonder what they sound like with some mileage. I'm looking to run 13's with just bolt ons and it seems the stock exhaust will get me there. I'll probably just source a used oem muffler and keep it stock in appearance.

Honestly I couldn't tell you if its going to have restrictions on a "built" motor! I just bought it cause it was cheap and had a better quality look for what I was going to pay for. My hatch was pretty much stock with bolt on (I/H/E). I could tell you that after I swapped out the stock piping on my hatch it did feel a lot better on the top end but that's just me!

Thanks for the info. I'm looking to bolt a few goodies to my GSR but the only experience I have to go by is going from my ITR having it's stock exhaust to a JDM 4-1 header, test pipe and N1 C/B was a world of difference. And that was 2.5" piping all the way back.

Yeah I don't think the yonaka come 2.5. It honestly only looks 2.25! As fas as miles for long term sound. It actually sound better once you break it in! I had it on my hatch for about 2 years DD! Its a super beefy low tone. Vtec sound great on it too! Cruising on the highway was fairly quite too! You know for the price you pay for one, ill honestly buy one again but not for the R

I'm really impressed with mine, the fit was perfect and it's not even loud unless you're on the throttle and that's to be expected with anything other than OEM IMHO. There's just a low hum, none of that annoying N1 rasp crap. My wife even didn't notice it til I pointed it out while on a drive, I have to roll down the windows to hear the thing, GET ONE!!!

Yeah, aftermarket muffler fitment on EM1's usually looks pretty nice. For the $, that is a nice system, I must say. Integra's show a bit more muffler, but still look "ok".

It's definitely better than a lot of the cheapo stuff out there considering it's stainless steel.

I put one on the GSR EG sedan I had and found it to be fairly quiet compared to a lot of other Honda exhausts and once I sawzalled the giant tip off it didn't look too bad either. It did have a bit of a drone and was annoying at highway speeds (but I'm an old fart who is used to European cars). I was on the verge of switching out the bottle resonator it has for a Vibrant Ultra Quiet, but never got around to it before parting the car.

I now have an Integra with a stock ITR catback. I personally like the look and sound of the ITR one way more and see no reason to take that off for the Yonaka that now sits in my garage until I put a built motor that really needs the extra flow in the car.

that looks really good, do you have anymore pictures? I've seen some pictures where it hangs extra low, but it looks really good on yours.

sorry OP, didn't mean to thread jack, but you should try and find some pictures of how the yonaka exhaust sits on the integra.

If you consider yourself old, I am probably in the same age range as you are With that in mind, I think the stock ITR muffler is my best option. I prefer quiet. I don't like the drone the Greddy muffler brings this car on the highway. The stock exhaust should meet my 13 second 1/4 mile goals with little trouble anyways.

I've kinda been secretly thinking about selling the R and looking at WRX's lately also. I like the R, don't get me wrong. Four doors would work a lot better with my large family though. I just can't seem to accept the mileage the WRX gets.

Yeah on the tip issue I guess it is large @ 4.25". However the Apexi WS is 4.13" and the Greddy SP2 is 4.00" so it's not abnormal, still better than an N1 sticking out the rear in my book

this is not a worldsport replica its a greddy trust replica.mine on my 92 cx sounds good.even when i removed the cat it got throatier no rasp in it at all.would recomend it.

I guess my main reason for firing up this thread is just the cost of exhaust in general. You see how much a USED mugen twinloop goes for? I can't see that muffler being that good. I made a nice custom 2.5" crush bent system on my b18c1 eg and it sounded really nice. Even with a test pipe! Just used a glasspack as a resonator and then a 2.5" turbo muffler. I would just rather not deal with the hassle of having a muffler shop mess with my r. If the stock muffler/piping can get me in the 13's then I'll stick with it. Now that I am old, quiet is real favorable trait of an exhaust system.

Yeah I completely agree,trust me I would have not have gotten this if it wasn't. I'm ashamed to say this but, when I had an N1 catback on my last Civic it used to be my neighbors arlarm clock in the morning lol. This thing is perfect, it's how a sport exhaust should sound. I hear more engine than exhuast. Type R muffler on the end would be the ulimate sleeper though, tough call. I'll see if I can post a sound clip. It sounds like you're on the fence and I can't blame ya, I did a lot of research on this before I bought it because I like the pure sound of the engine.
