What will you see at the Expo from SMS Products?
First there will be (10) 2-1/2" stainless steel test pipes and (2) 93506 OBDII heavy duty cats that 12 people will win Saturday night.
I should be debuting my new light weight 2-1/2" cat back system. This system will incorporate (2) light weight resonators and (1) muffler and it WILL be a bolt on system. 2 versions will be available, (1) for JDM length headers (on display) and (1) for my ITR header (on display vehicle). The company that I'm working with on the design of these new resonators states they are very effective in both flow and sound control. We'll just have to hear them to decide. The system may come with a replacement tube section for the 2nd resonator if some people think it's too quiet.
I'm also working on a new design of the 4-2-1 header for the ITR. Based on upcoming testing this header may be installed on the display vehicle along with some other bolt on parts.
I'm very excited to be a part of this Expo, but I just have a ton of work to do so please be patient with me on my IM and Email responses. See you in 1 month.
SMSP - Who's not sure if the ITR'd Ford F250 Crew Cab Turbo Diesel will be ready for Expo.

will SMS have custom exhausts for sale at expo? I will be ready to purchase one by then and I was planning on going with SMS. Im guessing that would be something that would have to be worked out before hand with exactly what I would be looking for...

Good Stuff! I'm glad to see you will be having a "bolt on" system available. It now sparks my interest! Need any help?
Thanks,
Victor

are the test pipes going to be 5." on both ends? or are there going to be a couple that are 2.5" to 2.25" for jdm header to a 2.25" exhaust?
just wonder since if i would happen to get one would have no need for it.

nice to hear that you are coming up with new products

I've heard of people waiting a few months for some of the JDM headers also so while I would like to trim the wait time down I don't think the problem in waiting for products is just a SMS Products thing. I know someone who gave up waiting for a hood after 9 months!

Re: What will you see at the Expo from SMS Products? (SMSP)
I'm not sure how to answer that one. It's not an assembly line here. The off the shelf brands make 1 or 2 headers for the B series engine and they aren't changing their designs. I make many more than that for the B16, 18A/B, B18Cs and B20s and you can just about double that if you talk about side exits. I'm presently working on my 4th or 5th version of just the ITR header. R&D slows production but hopefully leads to a better product.

also, since the current design of the header is so good already, I was thinking that you should spend a little more time producing it than improving it...just a thought

Re: What will you see at the Expo from SMS Products? (Padawan)
Basically, if the wait time deters you from buying one of Dave's headers, then his headers aren't for you.
wait time = decreased customer satisfaction (sorry Dave) = less want for product
THIS IS THE CASE FOR ALL PRODUCTS AND SERVICE SOLD...how can you say that the headers aren't for me?

this logic is garbage

thx for the reply...what i really wanted to say is that you should possibly look into getting some help with the labour
also, since the current design of the header is so good already, I was thinking that you should spend a little more time producing it than improving it...just a thought

this is a valid arguement guys so keep your rebuttals civil please
Dave's work is based upon quality, I don't know if he expected it to grow as fast as it did (correct me if I am wrong)
he knows that help is out there if he needs it trust me , right now I believe the work is so detailed and tedious an extra hired hand would be useless

If you are interested in getting your product ASAP, get an off the shelf product.
As said above, any part that is custom made is not going to be ready to be shipped out as soon as payment is received.
