Re: What oil filter do you guys use??? (TypeRmsm)
Mike can you post the HAMP pics and clarify why a smaller filter is better?
I saw the Realtime ITRs run larger FRAM filters relocated to the battery location under the hood. I would think more oil capacity is better to allow cooling through an oil intercooler . This would offset the downside of added parasitic resistance from more oil volume.

Bosch, it's the same as the Mobil 1 but considerably less expensive. Or I use the Purolator.
I've also used K&N and this Castrol Plus (or something like that) from Kmart @ ~$5.00. It's synthetic, but I don't know anything else about it.

Re: What oil filter do you guys use??? (Tanabe'd GSR)
Here's my oil filter story:
On my car I have a autometer electric oil pressure guage. This is my first oil change since break in. Since it was my break-in oil I used a Fram filter . With this filter I was getting 25psi at idle and around 50-65psi driving around. I went to this website http://www.ntpog.org/reviews/filters/filters.shtml and read the review. So I decided on my next oil change I'd try out the STP S2808 oil filter. Once I started the car I noticed that at idle it stays 25-30psi and driving around it goes up to 65-85psi. I plan on using STP filters

Why doesn't anyone try Canton-Mecca oil filters. They are the most efficient oil filters out there. You can get them in spin-on (traditional) or remote.

"probably cuz of the super high price "
Here are some facts:
-CM elements filter out particles down to 8 microns, half the size of what the average spin-on filter does and has a flow rate even when contaminated, that is far greater than that required by any automotive application.
-CM filters do not have a bypass because the high flow of the CM element can handle more flow than that required by any automotive application, so all the oil can be filtered all the time.
-Under normal operating conditions we recommend a CM filter element should be changed every 10,000 street miles.

People like the best for their cars. I feel the same way about mine.

Doesn't Spoon use smaller filters made for the Logo on some of their engines? In the BM typeR legend video theres a quick conversation about oil and filters. I believe they also reinforced the smaller filter with an adjustable band like the ones used on intakes.
The guy in the video said something about it helping maintaining oil pressure. He went on to add the importance of oil pan baffles and so forth.
