In 1997 when I was still in school, I was in an Acura dealership with my gf's mom looking at some cars, and there was a brand new 97R in the showroom...I was totally blown away...I had never seen anything like it before. I knew right there and then I had to have one somehow.

Re: What made you buy a ITR?
My R is my 4th integ ive ever owned...
Ive owned a 90-92 RS,LS and LS with GSR swap not all at once of course but i would sell them and move on to the next project. I finally sold my last LS/GSR and went to the dealership to look for another integ...i seen all the GSRs, newer LSs and other cars but just wasnt impressed with any of them...for some reason i decided to drive around the dealership before i left...as i was driving around at the corner of my eye i see this white car, white spolier on a integ and the back of a while rim...i think to myself...noooooo..i brake hard and back up, get out the car and go check it out..i see a diry *** 97 R just chillen there with no sale stickers on it or anything. I leave my car run inside and ask about the R chillen in the back..they say oh we just got it in, needs to be cleaned before putting it out on the floor. I tell them i want it...i come back the next day with my down and 5 days later after they clean it and inspect it, it was mineeee!!!!!
I love how we met. its kinda like the movie Pretty women!

Was in the market for a new car, didnt even think about an R because I had never seen one in my area. Saw one at a dealer a half hour from my house on day and came back to buy it the next day. I probably paid about as much for the R as a new car too. haha...

Re: What made you buy a ITR?
I had wanted an R since I got my frist car. It was a 95 Ls, mint. I always bought R parts for it, then totaled it. Then I got a civic, that became a project car. Then I got a 99 Ls, bought a ton more R parts for it, and then I decided I didn't want a sun roof so I was going to make a clone out of a Rs and put a k series R engine in it. Then I said F it. Im going all out. An R was never a possibility for me because I couldn't afford it. Then I joined a bank and they loaned me 11k. Idiots! Haha. I love my R, I only wish I had more money to track it and put some baller parts on it.
Buy an R....good thread.

Re: What made you buy a ITR?
my friend owned the local folk lore 200+hp 10K rpm type r that rarely came out to play. It spent so much time on jackstands no one really knew about it which worked out great for me. total sleeper, and none of the "oh thats mikes old car"
I wrecked my civic and got a wild hair up my *** to call and ask if it was for sale. sure enough! got enough back from insurance to purchase it from him.
it was a sign. this car was meant to be in my possession. Im in love with it. Kinda like having my own kid! buy gifts for it. take care of her when shes hurt, Im even in the process of buying her a new car so she doesn't have to walk everywhere anymore. She can just ride to events on her nice new trailer.
If we have a good day at the track, i usually pat her dash and say "you did great today, i ****ing love you".............seriously.

Re: What made you buy a ITR?
my first car was a 2000 civc si, after owning it
for about a year and a half i was t-boned by
an old lady who ran a red light. soon after that
i was convinced i had to get another honda, keeping
in mind i needed a daily driver that gave me that race
car feel aswell as the reputation established by the type r. since then
one of my brothers friends older brother was selling his R, i jump on the
oportunity and now i'm the proud owner of #0525

When i was 16 (now I am 22), Ive always dreamed of having one. I love the way they look and the way they look back at me . I just needed the perfect one, now I found it (400hp dyno, gt35r turbo) My best advice to tell you guys is "good things happen to those people that wait".
I will post pics later....
By the way to those damn thieves, goodluck jacking me I have layers on top of layers of protection. hahahhaaha plus i have 4 different hideouts for it. (yeah its a must especially in ****in houston texas)

Re: What made you buy a ITR?
I've always loved the DC2. It looks good, has a good base engine to start solid projects with, 4 wheels disk brakes, etc. I was just looking at investing in a GSR, when i saw one in the auto trader for sale, locally! I'm 23, i've owned this thing for almost 5 years, love every minute of it. I don't even have to drive it to put a smile on my face. Just today I put my OEM fogs on, lets just say I was way stoked, so stoked my GF said I was being annoying. People have no idea what it is to own one of these cars, even if it does just sit in the garage and is a Honda. I love you R!

Re: What made you buy a ITR?
I bought two Integras for different reasons.
When my first daughter was in high school, I bought her an Integra, because she liked the small round headlights.
When my second daughter was in high school, I wanted her to learn to drive a manual transmission and she wanted a yellow car.
