What color should I paint my type R wheels?
I don't think I've ever made a poll before..... but maybe you guys have some neat ideas you'd like to share.....
I have some CW itr wheels that are in decent shape (1 needs a repaint). Thanks BenB for hooking me up with them!
My problem is that both of my itr and my hatch are black. AND I don't much like white wheels on a black car. It gets old REALLY quick, imho.
I'm trying to decide what color/ colors to paint these wheels.
I've entertained the dark bronze notion, as well as polished, polished face with a different color for the sides of the spokes, etc..... I've seen red itr wheels before, and it didn't appeal to me with the whole wheel being red, but maybe the insides or something with a polished or gunmetal face would be cool... I've also seen black, and it didn't look good to me either..... But maybe incorporating that with another color would be good.....
Thoughts?
If a few people want to post up examples of different colors and/ or photoshopped ones, that'd be

How about gunmetal or black with a polished lip? That usually looks cool.
Look into powdercoating too. All kinds of cool color options available. Gunmetals, silvers, colors with metalflake, chrome, polished alum, etc. Durable, cheap, and clear powdercoat over is even better. Parts not desired to be coated can just be tape & paper masked. Requires less meticulous prep than repainting (just strip with aircraft paint remover, no polishing required). I get it done local for about $40 / wheel (I do the prep), in a two coat (1 color + clear overcoat).

Gervics Bronze Met. Its a GM color, but looks good. I had one of those color books in front of me forever, even the bronze section is 10 pages long. I'm thinking of the gunmetal w/ polished lip, but theres only so much you can do. It will still be a stock looking wheel. I guess I'm just tired of the stock wheels. Good luck with the painting

And I don't think you should have made one today...
Reason, On wheels you gotta remember that no matter what color or how shinny they are they will be covered in brake dust if you drive somewhat normal. For that simple factor I would go with the easiest color to keep clean or the color that would hide it the best.
If you want some bling maybe try to get them powder coated the same color as the car or powder coat them a flat black to hide the dust. Imho Either way its going to look pretty cool, kinda like a stealth look but with character
Good luck, with a tough decision

I like my Brakedust Grey on my wheels. I had them "powdercoated" when I was using Porterfield R4 brake pads a while back. Just don't forget to rotate the wheels to make sure they get an even amount of brakedust.

I remember when open polls used to actually be somewhat funny...
Who was the member that stripped his wheels down and then clearcoated the bare metal and it actually turned out really nice, like the machined look on the face of the wheels?
