Well I think im totally out of the Honda Scene...!
Well some of you might remember guys trying to steal my R out of my driveway on two sucessful nights..The first night they only managed to pop the hood...the following night they busted up the steering column even though my car was parked behind...two other cars..Well I kissed the car good riddance's it was going to being fixed at the bodyshop and I hoped to race it once at limerock before I sold it..Well it never happened...My Bodyshop guy called me this morning to inform me that they cut down his fence and stole my car...For record my I have dealt with this bodyshop on numerous occasions so I dont think it was from him.. The car was even started on but the parts were left in the car too begin working on..The kicker is they left my viper alarm where the car lay... Luckily my bodyshop has video surveillance.. It would be interesting to see what they did because the car wasnt driveable..Anyway thats about it...

I am really sorry to hear its gone that far.
May I ask where this happening since its seem to be northeast area because relating to Limerock future events.

Stories like this one make me lean closer to selling before I lose my second ITR to thieves. Good luck.

Actually I live in queens and I have had my 98 R for 5 years without incident taking all the precautions that one would who owns a type R..I live on less than traveled street with no outlet..So I can pretty much attribute my car being broken into my neighborhood thieves.. I never go straight home when I think Im being remotely followed..I dont want to trash the owner who is a very good guy (older by that but) where it was parked could of been a lot better..Basically they distracted his two rottweiler dogs by feeding them..cut the fence and either towed it or drove it away...The theft was in nassau..

did insurance settle w/ you after the first two incidents? (any damage done?)
Hope insurance takes care of you, or are you going to have the shop owner claim it?

Re: Well I think im totally out of the Honda Scene...! (Jason)
Actually the deal is the car was getting fixed all the parts were in the car waiting to be installed...I on good terms with him and after the first break-in he said if I wanted too I could leave the car with him since I dont drive it often..I declined but after the second break-in I had no choice...We kinda came up with the agreement that it was so to speak safer at his shop since the thieves came back twice for the car...The insurance company cut me a check for the first two attempted break-ins..The bottom line is my body is a stand-up guy but if the insurance company tries to dick me I'll be forced to go after the bodyshop...

That sucks about your car. I hate ******* theives. I have to take mine to the bodyshop pretty soon in a bigger town and I hope my car is going to be ok. From hearing things like this I am going to make sure they store the car in a safe place.

I'm sure that's not how you wanted to go out.
It's just a thing. A fun thing, mind you... but still just a posession. Don't let the things you own - own you.
I certainly wish you the best (and less hassles) in your next automotive endeavor.
RIP - another CW brother.

Wayne,
Sorry to hear about this. You know that you are always welcomed in the passenger seat of my car at any HPDE.
I understand about "writing off the car". That is why I am racing my car. In NYC, the only place to enjoy an R is on the track.
But, I am happy you were not hurt and only damage to your life is $500 deductible and the inconvience of not having a car for awhile.
