Type R 00-0187
So I just purchased a 2000 PY integra type R with Badge number 00-0187 I posted it on my instgram and a fellow itr owner pm's me saying this number doesn't belong to my itr…
Then proceeds to send me the link on the itr registry and someone registered a FBP itr as 00-0187.
I contact the owner which I purchased the car from. He says there is no way as the car has been in the family since it was purchased off the lot.
As I start getting stressed out I log into my honda-tech account that I haven't been on in years lol to do some research...
so upon search I find a old forsale thread for a FBP itr for 00-0187 (link Below) And I see the badge that does not look original at all.
https://honda-tech.com/forums/vehicl...500-a-3225103/
his badge for the FBP
I was told that originally "his" badge was stolen, so he made this. Why not state that in the ad thought?
Heres a picture of my badge
my Badge
I mean I start thinking o what if this was his badge and somehow it got switched. etc etc...
but then I dig up this old thread from 2002... of py forsale numbered 00-0187
https://honda-tech.com/forums/sale-1...187-nj-250293/
which lines up with what I have still jdm front and my car fax lines up with the area and the guy I bought it from verified that was his family members old acct.
CarFax showing NJ, NYC to CALI where i am now..
The Pics in the thread do not work, but in the comments one states
"Nice, and hope you get a good price for it.=left
=left
But, ... it's YELLOW!
And on various other threads you can see it was a py.
I just wanted to clear this up as I post one picture on ig and stated getting hit with it being someone elses badge. well I personally think someone else wanted to use it because it was not claimed on the registry(at the time of), and its a "cool" number..
So please tell me what you think. I know their is a couple people on here that keep tabs on all the numbers so please contact me

Re: Type R 00-0187
Surely you can verify badge number by looking at the VIN or engine number?
Not an expert on the USDM cars but as an example, the Australia market cars the last 3 digits of our engine number minus 1 will give the correct ITR badge number.
I have 00-0138 AUDM ITR with engine number ending in 139. As such it proves the car is numbers matching. Did my research on ClubITR and all owners confirm this to be the correct method of determining build number and engine number.
