Re: Toda or Endyn pistons?? (ITR111)
wow, I don't have an opinion on this because I generally know that both of those names are good...but...wow...the Moderator caught a mistake apparently..good call
I'd say that Endyne is more geared towards pistons (if you hear the name endyn then you generally associate them with pistons because that is what they do!)
Toda is generally just overall performance products that are good...
I, personally, would get the rollerwaves just because I would bore out the block, and the rollerwaves are MADE for that kind of thing specifically almost (says so on the sight at 84.5mm )
but whatever...
other good pistons: JE, Arias

Re: Toda or Endyn pistons?? (archmage)
Bottom Line, Get whatever pistons you want.
They will all be about the same. Just get the compression and bore you like and
be happy. If you are serious about building a performance engine, then you will
check the clearances and adjust things accordingly.

Scroll down to the paragraph just below the last photo of the pistons.
Now are you telling me that you would not trust the word of "God"?

Re: Toda or Endyn pistons?? (slowcivic)
The Endyn pistons are also offered in a "stock" bore now... well, a .001 overbore... or a good size for a properly honed block... and yes, they will fit with Toda C's... only an idiot wouldn't check the clearance though...

Re: Toda or Endyn pistons?? (Zeus)
I appoligize for my stupid comment above saying that only Toda Pistons were compatable with Toda C Cams. I was obviously sucked in by hype. Anyway, I am in the same situation as the origional person that posted this thread. I bought some Toda Spec. C cams hoping to use them with my 95 GSR Engine. Yes, I too am looking for Pistons. Believe me, I would love to purchase the Rollerwaves (seeing as how they are about half the cost of the Todas). My question is what compression Rollerwaves should I get to run with the Cs for a Street/Strip application? I use my car on a daily basis and want to continue using the same gas, Chevron 92 Octaine. I realize that the Toda Cs love compression, but how much compression can I safely go for? I realize the Rollerwaves have nice round edges to help fight detonation. I plan on using a GSR Head that hasen't been Milled and a Stock GSR Headgasket. Thank you for any information you can give me!

Re: Toda or Endyn pistons?? (Zeus)
Here's a real stupid question, but one that will prove important in the long run. Both Zeus and sgT mentioned to check for clearances. If I call up Larry, he will probably want me to give him some measurements so he can make some calculations with regard to my setup (whether the rollerwaves will work & what compression piston I should order). What measurements will he want me to give him ? Thanks again for any information!

He will tell you to check the measurements yourself as well.
Most of us run about 12-12.5:1 on 92 octane with no problems.
But keep in mind, if you have never done anything like this before, then 12:1
probably isnt for you.

Re: Toda or Endyn pistons?? (sgT)
On a sort of related topic....I was wondering... The Bottom End torque you loose running Toda spec Cs (compared to the stock ITR cams) .. if you run a 12:1 or 12.5:1 comp.. would you gain back that lost torque? or at lease most of it?... and i was just wondering about your comment SgT..about "if you have never done anything like this before.. it isnt for you"..can you further explain that a bit.. Are there things you need to watch for over the obvious detonation... or is it maintanence concerns? Jus curious because i was thinking of running a similar setup..thanks man

Re: Toda or Endyn pistons?? (slowcivic)
If you ever seen those Toda pistons, you will know why they cost so much. Toda does have some really nice pistons, with some neat weight reduction tricks already done to the pistons. They are a great open the box and drop in pistons.

Pistons are NOT a drop-in mod. Rehoning of the cylinder walls should be completed. A 0.5 mm overbore is usually indicated (minimally) unless the engine is brand new and the rings haven't seated yet.
The Endyn/Wiseco piston with the Eagle forged rod combo is about 100 g lighter per cylinder than stock.[
