SUSPENDED licence in NJ.. Attaining license in different state??
Well i posted a awhile ago that i was given a speeding ticket (114 in a 55).
Also a failure to inspect ticket .
Anyways I know when i go to court i'll get my license suspended .
I heard it's possible that while on a suspended license , to register for a different license in a different state.
Now i have an uncle who lives in Upstate NY.
That's the only place where i can think of gettin a new license..
HAs anyone ever encountered this or actually have done it???

I was under the impression that all DMVs are linked now-a-days and it will show up on their screen that you have a suspended license in NJ. At least thats what I've been told....
Sorry to hear about all your woes. Kamil got really lucky it appears, eh?

not to be an ***, but perhaps you should have thought about this before being a moron going 114 in a 55?
Time to see some of the results of your action, I hear that NJ has a good public transportation system.

Re: SUSPENDED licence in NJ.. Attaining license in different state?? (Yell00ITR)
Actually my buddy did this. He lost his new york license and got a penn. license b/c he went to Villanova. You have to be out of tri state area, so new york is no good. Then you take the whole license procedure over again and on the form it asks you if you ever got your license suspended or revoked. Just check no. So you have a new state license but if you get pulled over in the state that you have a suspended license your fucked. Only good to drive in other states out of the tri state area. Hope this helps. Also you need a address and place to get your car registered for that state. Pain the *** but good if you go away to school. Hope this helps.

Re: SUSPENDED licence in NJ.. Attaining license in different state?? (NewYorkTypeR)
In the tri-state area all DMVs are linked. You could get a license from another state (though you will have to have some sort of postal address there) but using the new license in your home state would be very dangerous. If you get caught, you will get a felony on your record, which will never go away. Jail time is also a (smaller) possibility.

Check the vehicle code and know what they are acusing you of, and what the possible penalities are! Remember you are inocent until proven guilty, so never admit guilt untill your convicted.
If they yank your license then pay your dues, belly up to the bar, and be a man. We live in a society that has rules we all agreed to. If you choose to break the rules, then realize you could have to pay for it. I've broken a few in my day and found it is much easy to:
A. Not break the rules to begin with.
B. If you ingore A and get caught, pay for it, and get on with life.
The authorities are on to your tricks already. They have all seen it before and it is highly unlikely you will get around the system. "The Man" will come back with a vengance! Trust me on this one.
Good luck!

Are you telling me that you've never went pass the speed limit or otherwise break a law? Fukin tool...
the dude is asking for help and you're preaching him on how he should drive.
BTW, yeah, I did get lucky by taking the earlier exit... saw the pig take off after him. Can u say "racing on the highway" and "display of speed" otherwise.

Re: SUSPENDED licence in NJ.. Attaining license in different state?? (Kamil)
Kamil: First off, I don't have an ITR. So "the awesome ITR" is not being wasted in my possesion as you say. Secondly, I do race my car.. on those 'race track' things. And my only real problem with what he wants to do is that he's not being responsible for his own actions.
No where did I tell him NOT to drive fast or anything else, so I surely am not "preaching him on how he should drive". Further more, I HAVE sped on the highway, at times in excess of 150MPH, and you know what, I WAS A ******* MORON for doing so.
If I am speeding and hit someone because a tire blew out or whatever, than I WILL take that responsibility, I will NOT leave and hope no one saw me, I DO take responsibility for my actions, and I hate people who don't. He made the choice to go well over 115mph in a 55 zone as did you, you are 'lucky' in that you don't have to pay for your actions this time, but he does, it was his choice to go that fast, it's his responsibility to pay for that poor choice, and if that means sitting at a bus stop or hitching rides with friends, then that's what it means.
(edit: spelling correction.)

Re: SUSPENDED licence in NJ.. Attaining license in different state?? (itr1275)
I say Dave-ROR has some serious issues. First off, it's inevitable that since u are a memeber of this board that you do have an interest in speed, correct?
SO lecturing me on what the consiquences are, is irrelivant to my question!
you obviously have some personal issues that i cannot fix , but you need to take some serious corses on how nut to be a **** BAG!
OH yeah I don't need your 2cents by replying to my questions.

MUGEN child. Irony?
Seriously man, what did you expect? I swear... people bitching about getting speeding tickets is so ironic. Like the cops are the BAD people for keeping everyone else safe.
I agree with Dave, they make these things called "Race Tracks" and you "race" your car there.

Re: SUSPENDED licence in NJ.. Attaining license in different state?? (MUGEN child)
Actually, this board has forums that are not focused on performance, but yes, I have an interest in speed in a controlled environment.
I didn't lecture you. I simply told you to be responsibile for your actions. No reason to answer your question now though, as it's already been answered.
And I don't really have any personal issues, in fact, I wont even attack your post even though there's some obvious reasons to.
The great thing about this board, you get my 2cents either way, whether you need it or not.
Good luck on getting a license elsewhere (seriously), it's a pain in the *** and like mentioned above, if you get caught, you might regret doing so. (You'll be in legal trouble in two places instead of just one then).
Kamil/Mugen child: My only real advice to you is to try to fight it off in court, I mean the worst that'll happen is you get your license suspended and pay the fine, that's going to happen anyways, might as well TRY to fight it. I must say, if I was the judge I would convict you, but that's just me. Perhaps the cop wont show up.

Re: SUSPENDED licence in NJ.. Attaining license in different state?? (BOO YEAH)
I have to agree with io_burn and Dave,I know we have all been guilty of speeding but this board is getting a little saturated lately with people asking for legal advice.I don't care how fast you think your car is,you have plenty of time to think while you are accelerating to those speeds. It is not like your car gets from 55 to 115 in less than a second. So,either slow it down or be prepared to pay the price.Oh,and that comment about someone not deserving an ITR.WTF is that? That is the biggest crock of **** I have ever heard.

Re: SUSPENDED licence in NJ.. Attaining license in different state?? (Dc2k-specR)
No crap. I've never gotten a ticket... I'll admit, I drive like an *** sometimes, but I've never really done anything dangerous that could potentially hurt someone else. When you're going twice the speed limit, what would it take a few hundred feet to stop? On open roads in a non-track situation, a lot can change very fast a few hundre feet ahead of you.
I don't like seeing the posts about people dying in ITR's speeding down expressways. But, everyone does what their own free will tells them to. It is just ridiculous I think to get a ticket and do everything you can to get out of it. You need to accept responsibility for your actions. Imagine if you hit someone, killed someone, or got in an accident, would you be grasping for excuses and legal advice then?
Ugh. Sorry for the mini-rant, but I believe a major problem with society today is that no one feels they're responsible for their actions.

DC2K: You know I don't deserve an R! I mean hell, it wouldn't be nearly as fun beating them at autox if I had one! hehe. (yeah yeah, except for Mark Allen's car...)
io_burn: more than a few hundred feet, 80mph is over 200feet, for 120, I'd say 500+ feet.

Ok, and generally speaking on a highway or other road, how many feet of visibility do you have?
