Get the notebook out...it's oil debate time.

Actually there was some good info on Redline in that huge Mobile One SuperSyn thread.

Heard good things about Redline oil and Motul. Redline seems to be more accessible.. I think either one would be a good choice..

Redline rules... 10W-30, here. I paid $7.30/qt - by the case.

I actually reduced my oil consumption from 1 pint / change to <negligible> / change.

Comptechusa.com has it for $7.99 a quart. I might have to look into this.

Redline created over 2 times more wear than mobil1 for me, but the cause is debatable. More ITR owners need to test it, but as it stands, I wont be using it anymore.

I pay $5.25 shipped per qt for Amsoil and from the reading I did like amsoil better. This is a marginal difference Redline and Amsoil are the only 2 syntheics I woud use. After that good old castrol GTX is my 3rd choice.

redline came out pretty back. Amsoil looked better after the oil change.
But maybe since i put in redline first it cleaned all the crap out of my engine but who knows. I used amsoil after that exclusively. I paid around 6 bucks a quart.
Changed every 2k miles.
Just my 2 cents.

what do you mean by 'pretty back'?
do you mean black? if so, redline is a very dark colored oil out of the bottle. (as oppossed to mobil1 which is very amber) i wouldn't worry too much about the color of it when you drain it

redline came out pretty back.

Mixed reviews on what? I have not heard anything bad about Redline, Motul or Amsoil but I can't say the same for Mobil1. Mobil1 is thin and burns off really easy.
