Pics from Shannonville Raceway - Canada Day madness!!!
Hey guys,
Well, I finally got my POS out to the circut yesterday. It was Canada day up here in canuck land, so a few of us (Myself, Baby NSX, Amused) decided to celebrate our country by blasting the air full of tire smoke and carbon
The day was perfect ... nice and cool and just a tad overcast. The R was running beautifully after a complete tranny rebuild, new Exedy clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel, and new timing belt. I'm very very broke now, but it was all worth it!
Lots of cool cars out there, a few very rare ones, and even a few Touring challenge cars came out and blew the **** out of everything on the track, with the exception of the 700HP+ supercharged Z06, and of course, Doug and his monstARRRGGHH.
Pics:
My POS upon arrival
Baby NSX's POS
Myself, Baby NSX, Amused
Nice turnout today ... not too many people
The boyz
Fully gutted and caged RSX, K20A, Ohlins, C-West .. Loudest car I have ever heard.
Touring challenge Integra
What parked beside Amused during dinner! Holy crap!
On a side note .......
My choice of brake pads for this event was sort of half fluke, half me leaving **** to the last minute, but I ended up using the new EBC Redstuff Ceramic pads. This is EBC's version of the HP+ from Hawk. Now keep in mind, EBC was bought out a little bit ago and is under new management. ALL of their pads have been completely redesigned. This new Redstuff Ceramic pad is a brand new formula. All I have to say is: these pads ROCK! NO fade whatsoever, great pedal feel, minimal noise when cold, warm up quick, very minimal rotor wear, andything you'd want in a street/track pad. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about them. Maybe it's time people start looking at EBC again ... they got a bad rep a while back, but the new series has me convinced ... EBC is back, and they're making a solid product.
Thanks for viewing

Sorry dude, no vid clips .... just picture a B or K series with no header whatsoever .... than multiply that by 2 ... that's what it sounded like. Retarded.
Doespike:
I know, I know .... just wanted to give the guys with crappy internet connections a chance too
migs:
The hole was due to the fact that there was no rear trunk section, or anything behind the rear bumper. No rubar, nothing. Even all the support bracing (skeleton) of all the doors, roof, ect... were sliced out. 100% gutted.

I will let you know dude .... the more the merrier!

I must say it was a good day at the track. Wasn't too hot, cars were running nicely.
Too bad that Douglas (Baby NSX) corded another Kumo V710 slick. That's the second time in a row this year.
Dougie, I would be questioning Mikey about this, a few of his laps he was going wild.
Overall it was good, except for the traffic coming home. It took us an hour and 30 mins there, and 4 hours to get back home. Damn Cottage traffic.
That RSX was super gutted, when I opened his door I thougth it was going to fall off it was so flimsy. Loud as Fawk too, running right off the header.
Cheers Ryan, great pics, thanks Doug for the in car tutoring.

Re: (iheartintegras)
Ryan,
Great pics!
I must say that for someone out for there first lapping day you truly impressed. Well done! It will be fantastic having you come out to Expo next year and join the Canadian crew (which was seriously lacking this year in numbers). You and Amused will be great additions to that event.
As always your pictures are fantastic. I love your style!
My day was not without a few interesting moments:
- Running a closed PCV system had my car smoking during the double Apex at the back of the track. Even with a baffled oil pan, the G loads were forcing the slippery stuff up the breather ports. Running the open crank breather (like I did at the Expo) is the way to go.
- Mike (A.K.A. BPI) going a “little” agricultural with my car had my heart going for a few moments as my car disappeared into a ball of dust.
- My own little excursion into the green when I pushed a breaking point a little too far.
- Shredding my V710 tires after only 3 days. Shannonville is not very tire friendly but I think its time for a little more camber.
- Pulling off a pretty decent drift/save through the turn following the back straight. That put a big grin on my face.
But at the end of the day I was very pleased. I decided to push myself a little harder this time in places and that forced me to make a few interesting saves. As a result I developed a greater feel for the car and respect the PIC R3 coilovers even more now (these things are truly great).
Hopefully I can manage to find another set of tires before the year runs out. There a few more events that I want to run.
Here is a small video showing a few clean laps I managed half way through the day. Enjoy:

hey doug, i am the one with the other 97, i follow u thr the lap and u smoke at double apexi mostly is u burning ur rear tires, not enough camber in the rear just like mine and keep pressing the gas.
i smoke my rear tire at the little tide left before the hair pin at the fabi long straight. and still smoke a little at the hair pin even hving the inner wheel lifted.
anyway, it's a nice day and great to meet u guys, i also met the other guy with the CF hood and c-west wing.
my RA 1 did over burn a bit outside
