yup those are 17" SSRs, but not sure if it's the 17x7.5 or 17x8

Yeah come in 16" as well as 15" and they even come in 18" with many widths. They are bad *** rims with a decent pricetag. My friend Shaun has 15"ers, possibly 16's on his white 91-93 Sentra SE-R. (j-spec 10:1 comp SR20DE, gutted, solo prepped) bad ***.

so why do they use this rims on the realtime R's?

What kind of tires were you using and how did you bend them? It is easy to bend any rim given the right situation.

Volk Te37's out of that list. But any forged rims are asking for a trouble on rough/bumpy/crappy roads. Make sure you get enough rubber to prevent it from bending.
