Nick, Willis,
Glad to see my skillz have not been forgotten.

itrsport.com,
Wish I would have caught this thread earlier and I would have been glad to hook you up for a small (~$100) price and a few test laps around the industrial park.

Either way- IM me. It's always good to meet a fellow HT member!

NC/GA We-Todds, I'll be moving to the 30319 / (404) in August.

GMB=acura as they're both made in japan and gates is one of the best belts around
If you were in NY/NJ I'd do it for 100 bucks and food labor only
and get the parts for 50 bucks or less
you don't even need to set timing, if you turn the crank to tdc before taking the crankshaft off</TD></TR></TABLE>

What do you charge hourly?

I have a friend who is looking for a trust worthy guy in NY.. who can do a good job and don't charge much...

And the marketplace. Dealer rates vary from one market to another depending on what competitors are charging. $92/hour is actually very reasonable compared with a lot of places. Most dealers in Chicago and even St. Louis are charging around $110/hour. (These rates have gone up a lot over the past 2-3 years.) Even my local independent mechanic is charging around $88/hour.

If you want to compare parts prices, you can look them up on Delray Acura's website, which shows the list and some decent discounts. And then you can buy them from Len.

Glad to hear you got it straightened out. Acura of Brookfield is an excellent dealer - very competent mechanics, and great customer service too. The manager there (who is in charge of both parts and service) is a great guy and it's no surprise that he was able to straighten it out for you. I'll be there later this week...

To do this job we would quote:

Water Pump - $116 (comes w/ gasket)
Belt - $52
Tensioner - $67
Spring - $3.90
5 hours @ $60 - $300 (we would charge actual time, can't see it taking longer than 5 hours)
Coolant - $5
Total = $543 plus tax
