Default OT: Need ideas on how to get rid of my truck?

Sup all..

again this is nothing new for me, i made yet another mistake when it comes to "vehicles" but just to clarify this is what i do all the time so it wasnt really surprising. Basically when i need to get a car first car idea that pops into my head is what i will get without thinking twice about it. As long as it "looks" like its within my budget i will go for it. Ohh yeah one more thing, when i say "looks" i meant spending every last penny to afford a monthly payment for the particular vehicle i choose. A very retared move.. but thats me.

Now here is the problem at hand, i picked up an 02 Silverado with a monthly payment i can afford somewhat but gas is "ripping me a new AHOLE!" on daily basis.. pretty much gas is coming up as much as my monthly payment. The car is leased on 3 yrs, i have had it for 6 months options on getting rid of it are slim from my knowledge.

Best bet is find someone to take over payments, hard to find someone, second thing is take it back to the dealer and be upside down like 6-7K minimum. Or go to any dealership pick a cheaper car and transfer the negative equity to that vehicle. I.E. Lets say KIA is 13K i would be driving a 20K KIA. Hmm... that option blows, its like getting yourself into another 6-7K loan for bad decision making. And then there is this thing US AUTO, this company had been calling me daily! What they do is the following; Find a person to make payments on the car you own, car stays in your name, he makes payments, insurance, stays within the limits of the contract between myself and chevrolet. But the truck stays in my name, and that company stands behind that person as a guarantee that if he doesnt make a payment then they do until new buyer is located. Basically they make their money by charging the new person a finders fee. Here is an e-mail i received from them telling me a little about their company. To me it sounds too fishy, too many what "IF's".

Any ideas on what i should do? I cant afford monthly payments no more and need to get myself a POS for a grand or two then call it a day. But i cant do this since the truck is in the way.

Tks for all the advice, undestanding in advance, and i appologize for such a long post.

*Note* Bellow is the e-mail msg i got from this company :

id say go with the place that e-mailed you but my question is how much does it cost, o yeah have you tried placing an add in autotrader take over lease payments ive seen quite a few im sure someone woule be willing to do it especially if your payments arent like 900 a month but it sounds to me like ur pretty screwed unless you could get a beater and drive that and you could save on gas that way by not really driving the truck then only driving it when you want to for fun drives and what not, also could you go back to chevy and see if they could take the truck and put you in a cheaper model like an s-10 and just transfer your payments and what not but not loosing the 7g's ne ways thats all I got sorry about the lack of punctuation i am we-todd-id

yeah i know.. i'm pretty damn well screwed! I'm gonna try to research this place some more that e-mailed me.. basicaly the way they make their money is that they charge a one time"FINDERS FEE" to the person that will be making payments to me until the lease is up. But then again the thing that concerns me the most is that the truck will still stay in my name although the new person will have his own insurance and etc.. if anything serious happens and some sh%$ goes down, Chevrolet will hunt me down since they had a contract with me and i'm sure they dont give a flying about any other deals i may have been making on the side.

Here is the link to that company, tell me if it sounds ok or just plain fake.

Tks again all!

I wouldn't mess with that company for a couple of reasons. mainly being that it's in your name still, and like you said, if **** goes down, it's still on you.

and, being in your name, should something happen with them not paying, you're still risking your credit.

Since it is in your name still, that's going to look like a debt you have to pay if you go to take out a loan on a new car as well. gonna mess up your debt/income ratio.

stay away, far away.

Find out if your leasing company will allow someone else to take over your lease without you retaining responsibility. It varies from company to company. If so list the car on http://swapalease.com and http://leasetrader.com?
