Default OT: Made it home....

Left Raleigh last night at 10:45pm cst. Arrived today at 5:45pm cst. Slept for 3 hours at the rest stop in Beckley, WV (off of 77). I have major sunburn on my left leg and arm. Besides that the only problem I had was that the B pipe on the exhaust broke at the header... It was a loud ride for about 12 hours. Currently drinking a cool beer and recovering mentally.

I'll post up some pictures of the replacement for ITR #55 (95 EG hatch) once I recover from the mad dash.

Gracias.....

Ausmith - who thinks it feels great to be anywhere but a car right now and who also thinks that beer tastes really really good when you have sunburn on the left side of your body after a 16+ hour roadtrip

Okay okay... .RJ has me thinking about the best way to go about blowing up the stock CX motor. I want to hook up a Mugen ecu and rev on it for a few days.

.RJ suggested serious burnout sessions.

Any other thoughts or suggestions?

drain the radiator. then do 9100 rpm burnouts! (take the hood off for maximum effect)

headgasket!

No no no, bring out the garden hose, put it right next to the throttle body (sans intake tubing, filter, etc), start bouncing engine off the rev limiter, then turn hose on, and hilarity will ensue .

Or, sell it cheap to an ITC guy that would probably love to have that motor. I'm sure you could find someone who would be interested without too much effort.

Yeah, see how fast you can get that thing to run the 1/4 mile, open line, no need for a measured amount.

Good luck with the hatch!

first exterior mod should be to remove that pin stripe!

looks really clean... great color too.

i drove 10 hrs to get my hatch, luckily without sunburn. that looks like it hurts. i bet it sucks when you jump in the shower.

Ausmith's ITR was wrecked on track. This is its replacement, all the mechanical bits will go into this hatch.

Yeah right...I couldn't give my 1.5L away here if I wanted to.

So Clayton is this your next daily driver or what?

Ahem!
<----- "ITC guy" waving hands franticly!!

I can't believe how big of a pain in the *** it's been to find CX engines! Everyone gives them away (to who, I don't know), blows them up, or just has no idea what happened to it (yes, I've got this answer before). I'd honestly take it off your hands if you're just going to blow it up.
