Opened the mail today,a Pre-approval used car offer inside, Meant to be?
A little background on my situation-
Ive owned 3 R's I currently drive a 08 TL-S which is a fun car, but as any ITR owner who has sold there car and driven something else. Well nothing compares to da R.
I have been trying to find a way to pick up another R now for the last two months, I come home from work today and there is a pre-approval letter in the mail from Fairwinds for used cars.
Tell me thats not a sign??>!@#
Either way just thought I would share the possibly good news with you guys and hopefully I will be attending E-9. Until then x101010101
And for the Picture ****** I didnt forget about you.

The pre-approval can mean alot of things but they will not loan for a car that is 5 years or 50K+ miles.

Right, each institution has there own criteria, For instance capitalone.com loans out for 7 years under 70k. That puts me in 01 ITR area.

Bank of America's only criteria was that the car had less than 100k on it. So yes, even a 98 with under 100k was an option for me.

But with they give you a loan on the car you want?
It'd be hard to convince them to swing it on mine. LMK though, I'm all up for options... also Fairwinds does personal loans with a minimal $50 savings account opening. Just another thought for ya.
Give me a ring when you wanna come take a look.

I like the sound of that. Hopefully that criteria is still in effect and has not been changed.
Anyone wanna buy a Type-S

A lot of places will give you the loan....its will they give you enough. When I bought my 98, my bank would only give 10,200$ for the car w/49k. Luckily I didnt need much more than that....The next problem is finding a deal like that.

That's since changed. They won't do anything 10 years or older. I got preapproved and then they call me up and say they won't finance it for me cause it was a 98. Only 99 or newer.

Any special conditions to get a loan from them? Do you have to be a member?

Yeah you have to be a member... I'm an alumni. Any member type credit union should probably be able to give you decent financing. Much better than big banks.

Re: (jm01dc)
That's what everyone keeps telling me and that I'd be more likely to get a loan for a 98 from a credit union, but every local one I've tried still has age restrictions.

how much depends on you and your credit... but you can have car and personal at the same time.
