your car has 70k, what do you expect. In 4 years, you put on an average of 17,500 miles per year which is higher than expected.
It's not exactly gold, I say even getting 15k would be a good deal, especially if you're getting a new car.

Re: (nholmes)
Actually thats not bad. I took mine into a dealership for a trade in on a brand new rsx-s (just as a joke, just wanted to test drive the new ones and see how they compared). The damn dealership offered me 9,500. I was utterly pissed leaving. I couldn't even laugh i was so insulted.

exactly, theres a ford salesman on my street pulling in 100k plus a year by ripping people off. Scumbag preys on peoples naivity and pockets the profit. Elderly, young people, first car buyers.... makes me sick. Hopefully, what goes around comes around.

I totally agree, never trade in your ITR!
I have a 2000 FPB ITR iwth 17000 miles on it. It still smells new inside, the Ford offered me $12,500. The problem is they can't price the car, because there is not Kelly Blue Book value, so they call it a GSR with mods.
Just the way it is.

FWIW, I got $18,000 for my 2001 NBP ITR with 23K miles on it. I nearly fell out of my chair when the guy offered me that price. I signed over the papers and turned the car over the following week. With the trade-in tax credit, I actually ended up getting $19.5K for the ITR in that transaction. One of the best decisions I've ever made.
There were a lot of factors, though. The sales manager knew me, I was getting another car from them, and my car was in pretty damn good condition, so I got easily the one of the highest trade-in prices ever for an ITR, I'm sure of that.
Seeing how Opie and Azcheron (and some others) are having a tough time trying to sell their cars (too many low-ballers on H-T), I think I got very lucky.

If you haven't already, you might look at selling to CarMax. I haven't dealt with them myself, but I know 2 people who have sold cars to them recently. One sold a WRX and one sold a truck, and both said they got about $3000 more than their highest dealership offer.

Sorry to say it but I feel that the offers b/w 14-15k were right on for your car. Also, you do have to consider the balance of paying less sales tax on the new car due to a trade in, which here in Nebraska a $15,000 trade in would mean you pay $1150 less in sales tax on the car. Pretty good IMO and easy.

I love taking advantage of that. I'll be back for my new car in a couple weeks.

Bastards
We pay 7% here which can add up when you are spending a descent amount on a car. I guess nevermind about my point for a trade in being a positive.
