need some help please ITR discontinued part # vs Honda part #
Hi,
I'm looking for an OEM ITR part that's now discontinued.
It's the chamber breather's ''pipe, breather'' # 17135-P73-010.
link for diagram:
http://www.acurapartsnow.com/oem-par.../17135-p73-010
part in question is #9
In my quest I searched online, went to the dealership and even tried with some contacts at Honda, but no luck so far and maybe this will help some other ITR owner down the line as well if my find turns out to be a good one.
No other Honda/Acura vehicule seems to share the same part # BUT after going through all B-series motors parts diagrams, I found 2 parts that look identical at least by design as opposed to all of the others found.
One is from the B16A2 VTEC Del Sol VS the one from my ITR.
Anybody able to confirm for sure if Acura ITR part # 17135-P73-010
and Honda Del Sol part # 17135-P2T-000 are the same?
I was able to locate some new OEM parts from 2 different Honda parts online dealers with the DelSol part number in stock but I'm wondering if both parts have really the same diameter since it's 1.6 VS 1.8...or if there are some minute differences between the two.
If I had to guess, I'd say they're quite possibly the same, since the clamps and the tube breather it's attached to share the same part #...but then again why does the ''pipe, breather'' have different numbers?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Just saw the diagram and it is the same part. The 99-00 Si also uses the same.
All this discontinuation of parts pisses me off because in the future when our cars break down or have issues finding parts is going to be a pain in the behind. Parts will be hard to find and people will do jist like the oem accesories asking insane amounts of $$$$ for them.

While quite similar, if you look carefully, you will notice this particular part serves 2 purposes: 1-top part connects the intake arm to the valve cover and is part of the PCV system (that one has the same shape for both)
2-the bottom part that's welded to it is some kind of piping for coolant and runs from the head to the part in question and then towards the oil cooler.
So the bottom end part where the coolant runs in has a different configuration, routing, size depending on the B engine.
I'm not saying that it would absolutely not work as substitutes in the end cause you can always flex and fit hoses somehow.
The thing is we have no idea about possible interior diameter differences...and you could always bypass it by running 2 independant rubber hoses, one for each purpose in order for the motors to run but for someone who wants to have a perfectly stock motor/configuration for whatever reason, the part from the SI is just not the same.
The bottom part from the the SI is ''S'' shaped whereas the one from the ITR is ''U'' shaped upside down, CRV's, other Integras, Preludes are all different shaped for some reason and there must be a reason for it if they don't all use the same part...

I have a practically new one pulled from a ITR the first week it was purchased and has been sitting on the shelf ever since. PM me if you're interested.

Necro bump. If anyone has a like-new ITR breather pipe, PM me. The DelSlo piece is discontinued as well now.

Such an odd part for Honda to discontinue, especially since you could argue it is emissions related.
Still looking if anyone has one.
