shouldn't the rev limiter kick in if he left it in 1st and gunned it unless he gunned it regardless and repeatedly?
or going downhill?

ouch

Oh... ok im lying just because I want to post up some bs right??? Whatever dude. I was in the passenger seat when it happened. Anyway the car doesnt have a rev limiter. Built head with Skunk 2 stage 2 cams, valves, and retainers, jdm 4-1 header, mugen twinloop, fpr etc... It was a beautiful car and it ran great. When it happened, he took it to about 8500 rpms. Tried to throw it into second and bam. A real loud noise the engine cut off and we coasted down the street.

How many miles on the block, on the valve springs, and which valve springs were being run?

Must have hit the redline/rev limit in 1st, let the clutch out, never got the car out of first, pushed the clutch back in while gassing it. I dunno. You just don't ruin an engine by hitting the rev limiter in 1st unless something was bound to break sometime soon anyways, making it only a coincidence that it blew just as he reached the top of 1st.

sorry to hear about what happened, whatever exactly happened.

I think you should add that the car didn't have a rev limiter just like in your post a few posts down... there seem to be a few confused readers here

I can get you new block and head. Give me a call at number below.

Oh btw, I let my friend drive my car today, he took it to about 9,500, and afterwards he had a grin from ear to ear. Who built the motor? Hopefully not some Acura Tech Monkey!?!?!?!
