Default Moving to Raleigh, NC

Lots have been going on... anyway to make a long story short... davidnyc may soon be davidnc...

Most likely settled down in the Morrisville, NC area. I noticed there was a honda/acura shop on route 55 in durham by the red roof inn, not sure if it is any good or not. The R will not make the trip as of yet until I can get a house (most likely by december/january)... have to pay for a wedding first!

(Note: prayer works wonders... sent one resume, God gave me a job with my previous firm, E&Y, with tons of benefits, etc. etc.)

You'll love NC. (no more snow...well, not as much as NY, anyway). Beautiful trees, and you gotta make it out to the Outer Banks when you get the chance. Good luck with the move!

RStoR, splat and baonest here are from NC--(RStoR is actually from Morrisville)

I quite enjoy NC. I've not spent a whole hell of a lot of time in the Raleigh area, but I'm down to chill if you feel like hitting up the mountains.

I'm sorry, but the irony here struck me as a bit humorous.

Thanks for the welcome. When I find out more info (when/where) etc. I am down for meeting a few people.

Note to the New Yorkers... there are tons of us "Northerners" down in NC and the housing prices are SUPER cheap... two bedrooms around $700... houses around $150K and on up.... $150K in NYC area gets you a one bedroom co-op maybe in Mt. Vernon or Yonkers far away from everything (I know most people have no idea of what is a co-op apartment...it is a northeast thing... I think.)

Note:
There is actually nothing wrong with drinking (Jesus' first miracle was making wine at a wedding)... the problem is excess or getting drunk. I just never acquired a taste for beer or alcohol.

I doubt if any of you care but Im also moving to the Raleigh area within the next year when I get out of the Air Force. Actually the wife is moving back home this weekend and she is gonna be looking for a house and a job over in Raleigh. I cant wait to get back that way New Mexico isnt for me at all. I grew up in Danville, VA so Im used to that area.

oh and by the way I have been known for having a few to many at times haha.

Tech Auto, used to be Honda Specialists. Pretty decent shop from what I understand. Welcome to the overcrowded RTP area of NC. I hope god gave you patience with traffic. I assume Ernst & Young near Capital Blvd; heck of morning rush hours

Traffic. I have seen it. It is bad, but, honestly not as bad as NYC...so it is all relative. Also, I think my commute is reverse...Morrisville, to Northern Raleigh, so I avoid all the RTP traffic. Also, I can come to work early and leave early I really don't have any "hours". Just have to get the work done, get there sometime before 9am and leave some 8 to 12 hours later

David - Welcome to Morrisville (soon anyway). Have you picked an area of Morrisville yet? Lot of growth going on here right this minute. Let me know if I can help you in any way. Lets get a beer once you get settled.

Thanks

First and foremost, I see you have a road rider in your avatar. Who is it? I am going to be getting back into road riding and maybe racing. Time to dust off the old Kestrel 200sci. Riding around RTP and other areas seem to be great.

I'll be in contact with you soon, maybe we can hang. Thanks so much.

I am thinking a short term lease or 1yr lease over by some apartments by Morrisville Rd (or is it Ave?).
