JDM conversions?
I love the look of the JDM front, but is it me or is it just undercover rice? I mean think about it, what is the definition of rice? Rice = money spent on something for looks only. So wouldnt a 3k plus body kit be rice even though it was JDM? I would love to get my car a JDM front, but why spend that kinda money if you can buy more stuff for the suspension, brakes, motor?
Whats do you guys think?

Spend money on what ever you want. If you think its rice don't get it, if you want to spend money elsewhere then spend it on something else. To each his own. Everyone will have their own opinion on rice so one person might consider one thing rice while the other doesn't. Honestly, who cares what others think, its your money, your car, and at the end of the day you will be driving it and will have to live wth your decisions, so do whatever makes you feel happy.

Like previously stated, spend YOUR money how YOU see fit. Because it's YOUR car.
I would love a JDM front end, is it worth $2,800 to me? No way. I personally cannot justify spending that much on something that doesn't make my car faster, or handle better. Do I consider it rice? Hell no, I'd love to have a JDM front end, my pockets just aren't that deep.
So do whatever you want man, it's your car, and your money.

i think you right. JDM conversion do seem kinda ricy to me too. USDM integra's already look nice, and performance should come first when you dont absolutely need to buy something cosmetic. On top of that, its just another obvious reason for someone to steel your car, where motor upgrades arnt as obvious. Keep your money on performance

wtf, are you serious... there are already 50 reasons why these ******* theives want to steal our cars. a JDM front isn't going to sway a Honda theif one way or another JDM/USDM, makes no bit of difference.
i've recently been in a tug of war between keeping the USDM front or going JDM

WTF? how can u say that a jdm front looks ricey; "rice" is a big *** body kit and a wing, under glow kits and the whole nine, and since when did a jdm front become a body kit: how is it a body kit when it is a OEM part ( metal hood, metal fenders, ABS plastic front bumper with lip). body kits are all after market and made of fiberglass crap. thats my opinion and im sure others will probably agree

Yah....most of the people in here dont really have a set budget for the car.....so putting on the front end would not be sacrificing anything....it would just be one more thing to blow money on......
I say do whatever you want.......but getting a jdm front will make your car more likely to be stolen...so if that helps any in the decision making process.

Re: JDM conversions? (jdmspoonitr)
It's your car and your investment, you gotta do what you want and not the vote of a forum. If you do the JDM conversion and paint properly it'll look more stock than rice, just stock for the wrong country
IMO I don't like the JDM front at all, JDM power and performance yes, not looks. The USDM front to me is far more distinctive on the road. JDM looks like the tens of thousands of old accords out there. Plus its kinda painful to see these rare cars seriously modified beyond simple bolt ons that could easily be reversed.
Good luck!

well put. i love the look of JDM front end, but i personally wouldn't spend that much $ on it. only if i get into a front end accident (knock on wood), i would get the JDM front end with insurance $.

I would have never payed over $3,000 for the front end i have. Instead i was in a minor collision and used my insurance to get it. If you got the money to do it..go for it. I am sooner or later going to modify a USDM bumper support and mount it. Instead of the lil stick bumper support, i'll feel a bit safer.
We shouldn't sacrifice safety for looks.

Re: (OUTKAST_R)
It would be nice if RICE really meant big body kits and spending your money on parts that doesn't boost your car performance. But unfortunately, the reason why its called RICE is because majority of the peeople who owns Hondas & Acuras or even Japanese cars are asians. And everyone and their momma knows that we asian eat rice everyday. So instead of calling import racing cars rAcers they call us rIcers. They just replace the A with an I and because we asian eat rice day in and day out. Personally I find it annoying and racist, but eh, what can I do.
Oh, and even if you have all motor straight performance car, 8 sec on the 1/4 mile or whatever, If it's a Honda, I bet it'll still be called a rice rocket from domestic crowd.

Re: (MacH)
Exactly, if I knew the guy who first associated the term rice with body kits, altezzas, or big rims I would kick his ***.
Don't keep yourself from doing something cause you are afraid someone will call it rice. Do what you like. There is no rice. There is ugly and not ugly. The JDM front end is not ugly. I wish people would stop being mindless followers and think for themselves.
