Re: (01-0720)
Actually, the wheels are fine, but the fronts ones have some scratches (it appears). I didn't look at them closely. I may seriously consider seeing if I can work out something with the lady's insurance company to buy the car so I can salvage the motor, tranny and wheels.

So you're saying that his SI was stolen and his new R was totaled?

I am so serious on this, take your case to a lawyer and get your son some money for his pain and suffering. It may not hurt now, but believe me maybe a couple of weeks, or a couple of years down, he's going to feel the pain.

Yes, his SI was stolen, but that was two years ago (on his birthday).
This year the R was totalled two days before his 23rd birthday.
Next August I may not let him drive at all!

Rondo, sorry to here about the accident but glad to see that no one is seriously hurt. If you decide to get the car back from the insurance then let me know. I'd seriouly be interested in the driver's side door, plus I'm local. Let me know.

i hate cell phones... i don't think anyone is that important that they need a cell phone. they are luxury of modern times and look what they do, cause more problems. your son should have slapped the **** out of that lady. sorry to see a beautiful vehicle go out in such a terrible way.

Damn that woulda been scary. Soccer moms have to be the worst drivers on the road(besides drunks). Driving huge cars, oblivious to everything around them, distracted by cell phones, kids, etc, Im always giving them dirty looks and hand gestures. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Jason »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
actually, you're more susceptible in breaking bones if you brace yourself...you are better being in a relaxed, limp state when you are in an accident...

the reason many drunk drivers are able to walk away from accidents, and the people they run into dont.

Jeez, I hope your son is OK.
People who get into wrecks because they don't pay attention should have their licenses suspended for a minimum of 6 months and be forced to re-attend driver's ed.

hope your son was unhurt. people dont realize how irresponsible they are when they drive and operate a cell phone. they get too full of themselves on the phone and forget what they do and how dangerous it is. Its people like that that will get cellphone use while driving banned. Too bad there isnt a rule to qualify SUV driving.

It's like somebody was sitting behind him and grabbed the seat from both sides, then yanked it toward the right. </TD></TR></TABLE>
The same thing happened to the seat in my 1974 Karmann Ghia, except it also broke the hinges so the seatback was lying limp. It's interesting that the ITR seat did the same thing.
I was rear-ended by some dork in a mid-'80s Camaro (a good 1,300 lbs. more massive than my Ghia). I was going 60 mph, the cops estimated his speed at 95 mph. I walked away without a scratch, but with soreness in my back and neck, much like your son. I also went to the emergency room, was x-rayed, given drugs, blah blah blah.
The worst thing isn't the back pain, it's the first couple weeks of psychological trauma resulting from constantly worrying that the muscles back there are a ticking bomb that can explode into pain at any moment.
I didn't sue, but I think I probably should have. I still have a little trouble with my back, years later.

Re: (lustedp)
The accident happened in the mid-cities area of Dallas/Ft. Worth.
My son went to his doctor yesterday. She put him in physical therapy 3 times a week for the next 6 weeks. She's going to keep close tabs on him. She diagnosed it as whiplash. His neck and lower back are affected.
My insurance agent said I can get first crack at buying the car back. I'm seriously considering it, but not sure yet. The car was 3 years old, but only had about 50K miles on it. The only mods on the car were the VOLKS rims, Dunlop tires and HID conversion. We're still trying to get a rental car out of the insurance company. It's bad enough to lose a car, but the hassles of just getting on with your life are a major part of any wreck.

Hope that your son turns out ok.
I HATE to find that stereotypes like that are so true.
SUVs
WOMEN DRIVERS
CELL PHONES
All 3 together

Well, sue the stupid lady for not paying attention and failing to attempt to even stop or get out of the lane.
and then you can have 2 ITRs
