Re: Insuring aftermarket parts (boostngsr)
keep the receipts of the parts you put on your car!!!! It is probably the only thing that might save them when it comes to insurance. I know that doesn't answer your question but most insurance companies could care less if you have 15k in parts in your car.

so if you put 15k in parts into a car and haven't told the insurance company that why would they cover that?
usually car need to appraised, etc.....but again j00r ins company will know best

Re: Insuring aftermarket parts (El Pollo Diablo)
I've insured aftermarket parts before. My agent asked what parts I wanted to insure, and at what value I would like to insure them at, and adjusted my premium accordingly.
You best bet (obviously) is to call your insurance agent and ask him/her.

So then you already knew the answer to your question when you asked it.

im currently insured by omni just fyi</TD></TR></TABLE>
Try a different insurance company then. You can insure nearly ANYTHING, for the right amount of money, it all depends on the insurance company.

Re: Insuring aftermarket parts (JDM_Type-R)
You need to get the car and the parts appraised by the Ins. Company. They usually raise your insurance a whole lot though if you have alot of aftermarket parts ont here.
If yours wont then all you can do is try another Ins company. Also, try to search because just recently there was a insurance thread and Rob (bbasso) or someone else was talking about some sort of insurance that insured for auto-x and hpde's it hink. Might be something to look at for aftermarket parts as well. I dunno all the details.
Good luck man.

What was the reason they don't want to insure your parts?
Did you ask them for additional cvg that you have to pay for OR did you ask for the parts to be covered under your existing Premium?

Fock the agent, call the Ins Co and see what they say about your needs, after y00 get the correct info ether set it up with them or go back to the agent with the proper info.
Ins Co have been around for 300 years, they want to make money. call them.

If you have asked them to insure, offered to pay more for an adjusted policy, and they cannot give you a reason...... *****'em and go elsewhere....

That's what I did. I have an extra $9000 on my policy. I also only pay $840 a year to insure it with the extra coverage.

no, because i can tell the insurance company that my car is worth $50k, and pay the rate for one month, then crash it and claim $50k as the value of my car. this doesnt make sense.
n.b. check my sig.

Re: (profroopchan)
yeah that makes sense.
what if you show your insurance company receipts that adds up to 50k and pictures of them on the car? that would be able to insure the car to 50k right
