Is there anyway to bypass the immobilizer system? I've searched everywhere and nothing. I might get a 2000 Integra and it was an attempt theif. They broke the steering wheel lock off and attempted to steal it. They couldnt because of the IMM. Is there anyway to bypass it so I can buy the car? I have a 99 prelude ECU but I think they have IMM's too. Will it work?? Please help... I can get the car dirt cheap from a friend.

This is normally a touchy subject on this forum, but I believe you'll be OK if you have someone knowledgable remove the IM chip from the ECU.

Hell, if you're getting it that cheap have the dealer set you up.

see if you can contact the previous owner of the car to get the keys, if not your best bet would be an obd1 conversion harness with the obd1 computer. i belive 99 was the year handa started the immobilizers in the civic and prelude so that computer might not help you out.

Take it to the dealer and they can make you a key that will work with your immobilizer. Asking people who own the most stolen car in the world, how to bypass a security system is kinda dumb.

I can post a way to easily bypass the immobilizer system, but I think the mods and other users of this board would 'chit their pants.

I had to go through Acura and get a key made, I also think that's the best solution. If you remove the immobilizers then it's just that much more risk of it getting stolen

get another ecu from another car..if it's obd2a then get a 96 (b4 the immob. came out) if it is obd2b (a 2000 you spoke of) then hmm not to sure..get a ket made to fit it....the only way unless you know someone good at removing the chip

What the hell? this is honda-tech right, did i get lost? I mean I thought this was a tech site/forum for people to learn... and for others to spread information... ohh wait maybe this is America where FREE info can be illegal...

Maybe you can SELL how to remove the immobilizer chip for $39.99.... GAY

My friends swap won't run becuse we haven't found out if the chip can be removed yet.....!

well lets remind people that no one is going to take the time to unsoider the wiring of an ECU in the car...Thus people would already have an immobilzer less ECU if they wanted to steal a car...lets say this is our method is pluggin in an imobilizer less ecu..."to steal a valuable car"...hmm 97 ITR/GSR gone.....99+ OBD2B w immobilizer.....hmmm gone used an obd2b to obd1 jumper....

moral of the story: NO ONE CAN REMOVE THE CHIP IN THE SPOT!!!!!!!!! their are ways of stealing a f__king car no matter what post are up!!!!!!!!!!! I need to get the info so my friends swao runs because he no more money to sink into another ECU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^^^ if your friend's car is a 2000 that uses an imobil.. then just use a imo.. ecu and get the dealer to program it,
if its in a swap (civic or non immo.. car) then use a chipped ecu or jdm ecu.

to the guy buying the car...have it towed to your house or dealer so it could be fixed right. if you go to the dealer with the paper work for the car they might tell you the brake code to start the car and by-pass the immo..

The dealer offered me a key for 200 bucks,

and I said NO thanks, I said WHAT ? ? ?

200 BUCKS FOR A KEY ? ? ? ?

I did not tell him that I am an electrical engineer,

I realize that this old 1997 Honda baby "PROBABLY GOT" has an IMMO,

because I cannot start it with a standard-key,

and I cannot start it either doing the basic ignition trick,

pulling out the wires and ignit it.

IF it has an IMMO, I simply want to remove the IMMO,

and put in my own "anti-theft" !

As an electrical engineer I do NOT trust old electronics NEVER EVER.

I know how badly they can fail, and the less electronics U got in UR CAR, THE BETTER ! ! !

OBD2b to obd1 jumper harness with a chipped OBD1 ecu... problem solved.
