More trouble then it's worth if you ask me. Maybe someone who reaaaally wants an R will be willing to do the work. Interesting find for sure...

Sounds like my kinda price! LOL! I'd LOVE to see her come back to life (hell, I'd love to save ANY R in general), but it would be a monumental task. As stated before, it's probably too much work to even be worth it. BTW, I just got done helping my dad (ALL DAY) get his 49 Chrysler ready for the car show tomorrow in my hometown. He bought it for $100 last fall. He found it in some trees in the middle of nowhere. It had been kept in a shed for 28 years of its life and out in the trees for the 7 past years before he snagged it. It has come SO FAR. It's amazing! I keep giving him **** about us getting a R shell. All day I was killing my back reaching up through the dash installing the padded dash and I kept saying, "Why aren't we rebuilding an ITR?" LOL He's building a new shop with a lift and all the amenities soon, so who knows . . . These are some pics of right after he got the Chrysler. Unfortunately I don't have the very first pic of it. This is after he did the first "buff job" and "once over." Before that he actually thought it was brown! It actually looks at least 10 times better in these pics than when he first got it. I'll throw up a few pics at the car show tomorrow, so you can see the difference now. Whether we pick up a shell or I simply buy an R FINALLY, I am excited as hell to take advantage of his shop! I only live 25 miles away, so it would be a great place to work on an R. Ok . . . . back on topic . . . I can't imagine taking on a project as epic as this shell, but if anyone does they are instantly my ****ing hero!

Pics from the show as promised. Only new paint is on some of the interior pieces, rims and floor. Only work done to exterior paint was more buffing. Alright. I promise I will keep everything R related from here on out!

Yeah it does look like a nice project car. I agree. Was it really in F&F or are you just pulling legs? The 49 Chrysler brings back a ton of memories. My Dad's 49 Desoto was almost identical except it had a different grill and an antique aftermarket air conditioner dealer installed under the dash.
