How rare is it to see a stock ITR?
Just as the title says. . .How rare do you think it is to see a completely stock ITR? We are talking stock exhaust, stock ride height; just as it came from the factory.
And what do you think is more impressive, a completely stock one or a well moded one?

It is very rare to see a 11+ year old vehicle without any sort of factory changes. I can admire an R in it's OG form or well modded as well; at the end of the day it's still a Type R and probably very lucky to be alive.

I only see one, and it's mine. Seriously I haven't seen a stock ITR for probably a year other than my DD. I've had the funniest encounters driving it when folks see it. I was driving to the airport in boston at night in the rain about a month ago, and I was in an area I'd never been in (traffic issue got me re-routed). Anyway, I pull up to a light, and an 18-wheeler pulls up next to me and the airhorn HONKs. I was like, hey dude, we're stuck at a light - what's the deal. Then I glanced over to see what was up and he wanted me to roll down my window. He yelled out "Can I buy your type-r?" Stuff like that happens to me probably every 2 months now.
Oh and as to whether I like a stock or well-modded one. I personally strongly prefer stock. That's why mine is - stock.

quite a few actually. what's rare is a totally stock gsr. beings they are cheaper more kids have bought and destroyed them. a good portion of the low miles R's are all owned by the late 20s early 30s guys who don't molest them.

Those of us who were smart kept their OEM parts and can have the car back to stock in a few hours or so.
The ITR is a great foundation and it doesn't need a buttload of aftermarket parts to make it go better. As set of good coilovers (note that I said good), a nice header and an intake and the car is transformed. Unlike a GSR, that needs quite a bit of work...some of it difficult to reverse in a driveway.

Yea, I think you guys are right. I don't think they are that rare...maybe just seem rare cause ITR's are rare in general!
I just purchased a bone stock black one, and it is my daily driver. I planned on keeping it stock, but I'm just not sure how long that will last!

To each their own, but I could think of about 100 cars I'd rather have than an ITR as a daily driver. Even when brand new I didn't think the ITR was that great of a daily.
But if that's what it is, I'd leave it as close to stock as possible. Chances are, someone is going to try and steal it anyways.

Really though? Can you think of a better car?

Safety standards are also a decade and a half old at this point.
Don't get me wrong--I love the car. It is a fantastic weekend and "nice day" car. It also still does well on the track and autox course.

Mine CAN be returned to stock in a couple hours . Only things done: JDM shift **** and boot, AEM CAI, and SS brake lines. Kept all of the OEM stuff that CAME WITH THE CAR though.

Have you been to an ITR Expo? Don't get me wrong, they are not "molested", but they are not stock either.
