Re: How much is horsepower is everyone putting down NA?
you guys think its worth it for me to have my ITR tuned? Its the JDM B18C-R out of a 96-97. Ive drove a couple of R motors and this one seems much stronger than others. Ive had other local Honda heads agree its possible i could have a factory freak.
I have:
- JDM ITR
- SRI
- DC JDM 4-1 Headers (Will be changing soon)
- Apex'i WSII
- AEM Fuel Pressure Regulator
- AEM Hi-Flow Fuel Rail
- RC 310cc Injectors
- Chipped P28 w/ VAFC-II
- New Iridium NGK BKR7-11 Plugs
- New Dizzy Cap and Rotor
- 9lb Flyhweel
I know the last couple have very minimal effect if any on HP numbers, but its all new stuff!!! im trying to figure out if i want to spend the $500 on getting a tune if its not really needed. I may be in the market for a bigger throttle body as well to help match fuel components. LMK if you guys think its worth getting a tune!
Thanks

My K20R powered R puts down 220/160 @DRTin Qweens,NY. Minor mods include RBC intake, 70 TB, RSR header, 3" exhaust, Hondata. (Dynojet).

Not an ITR, but in my GSR: on a Land & Sea dyno
177whp - 128ft lbs trq
generic SRI/AEM DryFlow filter
DC 4-2-1 header
2.25" exhaust
tuned on eCtune.

^^^
i have never seen anyone make close to that power with just h/i/e and a tune.
there is no engine work done? hard to believe.

Unfortunately those "peak" numbers are from that dyno spike at the topend. You can tell it was an error in recording as the slope on either side of the spike is linear, for both TQ and HP. This is a clear indication of a dyno spike or hiccup. I'm sure if you had the graphs for the run previous, there is not that dyno spike, and you can accurately see what your power is between ~7700 and ~8200.
Your true peak HP looks to be past where the graph shows, as the power curve seems to be increasing still at 8400rpm.

Re: How much is horsepower is everyone putting down NA?
I havent been at a dyno with my car yet. Here's what i've got in mine:
This is a B16A2 Engine, from a '98 EK Hatch (EUDM)
- 100% Rebuild January 2010, lots of brand new parts etc.
- Mugen Airbox
- Mugen 4-1 Header
- Mugen Twinloop
- Mugen Stage 1 Camshafts
- Spoon Titanium Valvesprings
- Spoon Valves
- EK9 Flywheel
- EK9 Clutch
- Wiseco Forged Pistons (85.00 / 3.347)
- Wiseco Connection Rods
- Wiseco 2 Layer Headgasket
- B16A2 Valves modified for more reaction at lower rpm (flatted out or something, im not sure how to name it in English. I'm sorry.)
Im running this with a Spoon ECU, on 98 octane.
How much do you think its making? Is it possible to say how much i might make?
Or is it impossible to say anything without a dyno run.

I must say though the difference between my stock setup and this one is night and day. I love how she runs now.

Set up
Stock ITR everything except
JDM itr oversize pistons
RS*R exhaust system
Stock intake with ICEBOX
magnaflow 2.5 cat
RMF replica header (vteckidd)
Tuned on S300
First is corrected, other uncorrected

Soulassasin...
I have a friend with the exact same set-up as yours who put down very close to exactly what that dyno reads before the hiccup. Find another dyno and i bet your numbers are very different.
Your set-up should be yielding anywhere between 190-195 whp with a competent tune.
